There is something about the Wild Wulfs of London premise that's really compelling but, for this reader at least, the series lacked heart and soul. I read all the Wulf stories (3 books & 2 novellas) and they all read the same. None lived up to the hype and I think the problem is with the writing -- it was flat and unemotional.
I liked Gabriel in The Dark One and looked forward to reading about his adventures in love, but he was MIA here, at least his personality was! I really liked Amelia but she was too naive and trusting considering her character liked to thumb her nose at society.
The language and setting seemed strangely ahistorical. It didn't feel like it was set in Regency England, in fact it could have been set any where in the world. Their dialogue and thoughts were modern for a historical and took away from the story. Overall, this was just an okay read.

Another great book in the Wild Wulfs series! I really enjoyed this series (the second two better than the first). This book is about Gabriel, the strong silent brother! He is determined to not let 'weakness' overtake him as it has his brothers, and submit to the curse. Then he winds up having to rescue Amelia from some other strange creatures who are hunting her. Enjoy!

This was actually book 3 in a series. Didn't seem to hurt the story to read out of order. Really liked the characters and the storyline. This is a story about curses and body shifters.
This was pretty good. Very different from the others in the series, but I liked it. And it was a good wrap up to the series as a whole. 3.5 stars
This was a good set of books. I see that the author has passed away. Such a shame there will be no more.

Talk about intense! Oh Man! Falling in love while you run for your life can only lead to a lifetime of happiness. The "The Cursed One" jumpstarts yiour heart from the first line and doesn't stop until the last page is turned. This was a great closing book for the series. I could see where there is room for a continued storyline, but even without further books it felt complete. Which is a good think considering the author has since passed away.
I would love to elaborate about the storyline but it would be tragic to spoil all off the fun. All I can really tell you is, Amelia and Gabe are on a run for their lives and they spend their time alone very well.

So I'm a sucker for reading an entire series if I have already invested time and that is the pnly reason I finished this book. The first two in the Wulf series were fabulous and I couldn't get enough of the setting, the charm of the brothers, the storyline, etc. I was amazed as I continued to dredge through this book that it came from the same author.
Problems: the setting remained in the woods and the time period of the entire book was 2-3 days in said woods, if I know that the heroine in the story is surprising the hero repeatedly...leave it be after one or two events...I GET IT!
Good parts: at least the few romantic parts in the book made up for some of the problems, we get to see the brothers again and how their lives have been (though to add to the problem list, Thompson just throws new characters AND their wives and children at us at the end without any explaination)
All and all, read it if you have already read Wulfs 1 and 2. If you haven't...enter at your own risk.

Brides dream of their wedding night, but for Amelia, Lady Collingsworth, the dream turns into a living nightmare. She's attacked by something inhuman and then learns her husband is dead. Fate intervenes in the form of the lone remaining servant, Mora, and her distant neighbor, Gabriel Wulf. Gabriel doesn't bring good news. He's been attacked on the road, and creatures lurk in the shadows, clearly targeting the Collingsworth estate and its inhabitants. And the creature within Gabriel stirs as the moon grows full. As Gabriel and Amelia's relationship develops in quiet contrast to the action, and Mora, Gabriel, and Amelia try to make their way to the safety of Wulfglen, Thompson adds a heaping dose of suspense to this entry in her Wild Wulfs of London series (The Dark One, 2005; The Untamed One, 2006).
I loved this book and read it in one weekend. I look forward to reading the other two books in the series. It was fast paced-gets to the action right away. The characters were strong and likeable. Red Herrings in all the right places, steamy love scenes!

The best in the series.
Wed and widowed in one day, stunning socialite Amelia Sinclair's honeymoon is anything but typical. Then again, neither is Amelia--rebellious and impulsive, marrying Robert Collingsworth was the one sensible thing she ever did. Now he's dead and she must escape the vicious creatures stalking her-even if it mean relying on a stranger. Well, maybe not a complete stranger. Amelia first glimpsed
