Outstanding analysis of the battle of Saipan. The authors covers BOTH the Marines and U.S. Army units that fought this major action. His rendering of the fanatical Japanese assault against two U.S. Army battalions that were decimated and the heroics of the GIs that stood and fought until they were overcome by numbers would make a truly great movie.
