This is a great book if you don't really know dogs. I found that it didn't meet my needs for training. There is a lot of time spent on dog behavior, of which I'm already aware of. This book will be great for a first time owner.

A must read for the dog owner. Learning a dog's body language is incredibly helpful if you are going to let your dog interact with other dogs and people. It also helps to predict many of the unwanted behaviors that might occur if you ignore the signals. I read this book once a few years ago and decided to order it and keep a copy of my own for future reference since it was so helpful to me. Best of luck!

Most of the general info is outdated. The "dogspeak" info is simple common sense. Not impressed at all.
