I disagree with the suggested reading level--this is good for interested second and third graders and a relatively easy read for fourth graders working on their reading skills. It is written in a breezy manner.
Don Luis offers very fine illustrations of how the 'dactyls' looked but there should have been more acknowledgement of the fact that we have no specimens with the plumage today.
