Craptacular. This might have been regarded as edgy when it was published in 1969, but now it is dated and stupid. Little character development, adolescent plot that would probably thrill 13-year-old boys.

Not too shabby. They made a forgetable movie based on this book.

Hell Tanner must embark on a mission to deliver anti-serum to the plague-ridden city of Boston, or spend the rest of his life beyond bars. On his way through Damnation Alley (the dangerous middle part of the US), he encounters mutant bats, snakes, radiation, tornadoes that spew dirt and debris, and biker gangs.

This is a fun little post-apocalyptic tale that's impossible to put down!
