Dance Through Time was a wonderful, fast read that I thoroughly enjoyed. Elizabeth Smith is an author who lives in New York who awakes from a dream of a mysterious Scottish man. After she decides to transform her dream into a romance novel and does her research on Scotland's history, she takes a walk to a park, falls asleep, and finds herself in Medieval Scotland. Soon she finds herself facing the man from her dream in person. Now she's torn in the choice between going home, to the year 1996, or staying with the man she loves.
I enjoyed this book as a hopeless romantic, and also as a romance-lover and book-lover. What was nice about Lynn Kurland's novel was that you are guaranteed suspense and a happy ending. A Dance Through Time is definitely a feel-good story that is very difficult to put down.

Elizabeth, 'sort of engaged,' can't find the man of her dreams in modern NYC, but can hear his voice calling her. She hopes that writing a romance novel will put her fantasies to good use. With a fascinating research book in her lap, she falls asleep while reading about Highland Laird James MacLeod and wakes up in Scotland, 1311. James has very definate ideas about where women place in his world, until Elizabeth goes straight for his heart.

I really enjoyed this book. While it got a little slow in the middle and I thought it was going to be awful it finished out really well. Good read.

Life has not been going spectacularly well for budding romance writer Elizabeth Smith. When she starts hearing a haunting voice beckoning her, Elizabeth figures she is really losing it. Deciding that a walk in Central Park will help clear her head of Scottish research and the Clan MacLeod, Elizabeth finds a quiet place to rest. Upon waking from her strange nap, Elizabeth is immediately aware that something is very wrong. Somehow, for some reason, she is no longer in New York. In fact she is no longer in the 20th century.
The last thing James MacLeod needs cluttering his life is a strange young woman claiming to be from the future. While deep in his heart James knows she may be telling the truth, the hard-headed Scotsman refuses to believe and tosses Elizabeth into the dungeon. Once James releases Elizabeth they begin building a wary relationship, each never quite sure what the other is up to. Elizabeth finds that she has a number of allies in James' clan, including his teenage son Jesse and his young ward Megan. The key to Elizabeth getting back to her own time lies in the forest. Something within the woods makes time-travel possible.
Elizabeth saves James' life and in doing so changes history, preventing Jesse's ascension to power. When they realize what they have done, James and Elizabeth decide to travel to the future to save Jesse's heritage. It is James' turn to be off balance, as he learns to cope with modern life. Both the past and the present are in jeopardy, however, when Elizabeth and James realize that their treacherous enemy Nolan MacLeod has also learned to travel through time.

I really enjoyed this book! My first from Lynn Kurland that I have read. I really enjoy time travel books and this did not disappoint. There is another one before this one but I did not read it and I got the "gist" of the story line from this book. I love the two main characters Jaime and Elizabeth. Looking forward to reading the next in the series.
I loved the book, I didn't want to put it down.
Elizabeth Smith is called through time from New York City in 1996 to Scotland in 1311 by Scottish laird Jamie McLeod.

This is the original MacLeod novel by Lynn Kurland. I had looked for it a long time, and it was well worth the wait. Elizabeth Smith is a struggling romance writer who finds herself back in time in medieval Scotland. James MacLeod is a medieval laird who has no time or use for women. They reach a truce, and eventually come to love each other. T
his book also introduces several characters who appear in subsequent books.
