From Dancing At the Harvest Moon
For some people, there comes a day when every dream they ever piled up over the years, every good intention rises in rebellion against eh life they've been living. It can happen on the subway, behind the wheel of a car, while standing on a bridge looking down at the water... However it happens, wherever it happens, whenever it happens, one thing is certain: You die and then you're reborn.

A Canadian lake and autumn as one review states to think of "The Bridges of Madison County"> A good story of first love and lost and second love in the next generation. Touching with humor and good literary references plus the thoughts of music from the sixties.
This is a beautiful love story. Reminds me of Nicholas Sparks, it's a good tearjerker.
I love this book. This is the second time I have read it. Good romance novel about losing love and finding it again.
This novel, a "debut" for its pseudonymous author, is being touted widely as the "female Bridges of Madison County," and it should appeal to the same audience. McKinnon is purported to have published seven literary novels under her real name, which was not divulged at press time. The story centers around a newly divorced woman and her journey back to the locale of her first "true" love some 20 years before?an idyllic lakeside retreat in New England.
Accidentally requested this book, not realizing i had read it already years ago. It's a great story of how the past comes full circle, very nostalgic, makes you think back to your younger days!!
returning to Little Bear Lake in the northern wilderness is a return to what was.. and maybe what could still be
In Dancing at the Harvest Moon, a story of first love rekindled, 46-year-old Maggie McIntyre has just lost her husband to another woman and sees no reason to remain in Kansas City. She decides to return to The Harvest Moon, the dance hall where she worked in college. So we go there with her, back to the beautiful Canadian town on Little Bear Lake, where Maggie faces all of those juicy yet unanswered questions: Will true love find her? Will Rob, her first love, finally forgive her? Is she prepared to face the demons that have for so long kept real passion at bay?
Maggie McIntyre, dumped by her husband of 20 years, returns to Little Bear Lake to reopen the Harvest Moon dance hall and recapture the woman she was--where she met and fell in love with Robbie McIntyre all of those years earlier--where she meets her new love.

After getting divorced, Maggie returns to The Harvest Moon, a place she worked at for 3 summers, fell in love, then broke his heart-she's going to re-open the Harvest Moon. What happened to Robert? Does he still live here? What does she discover?
His letters thrilled her as a young woman in love for the first time, and now, many years later, they mean more than ever to Maggie McIntyre. After her husband of twenty years leaves her for a younger woman, it's the discovery of Robbie's letters that gives Maggie a renewed sense of purpose: to return to Little Bear Lake and recapture the woman she once was - the woman she knows she could be again. But time has changed the place she knew and loved. The Harvest Moon dance hall where she worked as a waitress is closed. Still, Maggie is determined to reopen it, with the help of friends and a special man who enters her life in a most unexpected way. As they work together to make her dream come true, a powerful attraction develops between them. Maggie struggles with her feelings for a younger man whose age stands in the way of her growing affection for him. But their passion is undeniable, and soon she will have to decide which is more important to her; what other people think, or what she feels in her heart.
