Another good Dick Francis. A little far-fetched and the hero is always beaten-down, but alway arises and triumphs.
Dick Francis is always good. This is tipicly him.
Francis at his very best! I thoroughly enjoyed.
Kidnapping is Andrew Douglas's business: they take them, he finds them. But it isn't so simple when Alessia Cenci, golden-girl jockey, disappears, followed by the young child of a derby winner and senior stewart of the Jockey Club. From England, to Italy, to Washington DC, Andrew's caseload is suddenly, violently overflowing...
about a man who helps people who been kidnaped andthis its in the raceing circle.
I enjoy all of Dick Francis' books. They all have an element of mystrey to them and I can't put them down till I've finished the books.
Always a good read from this author.
his books are always very good
In this fast-paced mystery, Dick Francis mixes the racing industry with kidnapping. His protagonist, Andrew Douglas, works for a company which works with police to negotiate the release of kidnap victims. He stumbles upon a mastermind kidnapper who targets victims in the racing world, recruits local thugs in Italy, England, and the U.S., and always manages to stay one step ahead of the law. This is a good, fast, entertaining read.
A great novel by a great author. It starts with a kidnapping, not of a horse but of a jockey. A beautiful Italian girl daughter of a wealthy father. Covered by an insurance company that covers people at risk (there are such companies) the story follows the rescue.
Another outstanding mystery by the great Dick Francis!
Vintage Dick Francis. Well paced, interesting characters and plot turns.
Francis always writes a good mystery based around race horses. This one has to do with kidnapping.
Kidnapping is Andr Douglas's business: They take them he fins them. Dick Francis is super, I miss his books alot.
When Dick Francis was alive, I knew that with every book i was practically guaranteed to find a superbly calm and confident hero who was nonetheless an ordinary guy. Usually there'd be a potential love interest with a smart woman, sometimes it would work out but sometimes not. THE DANGER is one of my favorites. I liked the idea of Liberty Market, and I wonder what it was about Andrew that the other partners, almost all ex-military, saw when they invited him in. i liked the shift from Itlay to Great Britain to America, and of course it all comes out right in the end.
Excellent, as all of Dick francis books are!
A compulsive page turner! Here is vintage Dick Francis, brimming with mystery, romance, and utterly stunning suspense!
