This is the last in a 3 book series. All are great reading but I would suggest you try to read them in order to be able to see where each character comes into the stories. Each book tells a spell binding tell of how the Amish handle hate from the outside world. Once you start one of these books you will not want to put it down till the end. Karen Harper has a vivid imagination, you will not be able to figure out the ending till the end comes.

A lightweight but atmospheric suspense story of an Amish woman haunted by a plot that brings her into conflict with the "English" world outside her little community. The story gets a little convoluted and unbelievable toward the end, but the heroine is well-written, and the suspense keeps you turning the pages.

Story of an girl who goes to wake her adopted daughter and knows there is a problem. This is an Amish community and adds to the problem. Great reading and suspense.

Dark Harvest transports readers back to the peaceful Amish community in rural Maplecreek, Ohio. Young spinster schoolteacher Leah Kurtz becomes involved in a conflict between her horse-and-buggy culture and futuristic genetic research after she agrees to adopt the infant daughter of a friend dying from one of the hereditary diseases that plague the Plain People (in real life as well as in fiction). Vicious graffiti targeting "English" outsider Mark Morelli, a doctor researching disease cures, sets a sinister mood that grows darker when his ultra-responsible, teenage Amish assistant mysteriously vanishes. After someone switches Leah's adopted baby in the cradle for another infant, Leah and Mark team up to investigate a series of unsolved disappearances that may lead back to Leah's former fiancé, who abandoned her at the altar years earlier. With its tantalizing buildup and well-developed characters, which ensure that the burgeoning romance between Leah and Mark is as potent as the book's suspense, this offering is certain to earn Harper high marks.

Final in a trilogy and another excellent book. I truly enjoyed this book the most out of the trilogy. This was an amazing mystery that really keeps the reader on the edge of their seat.
Enjoy!

I enjoyed this one so much, as it gave a glimpse into the life of the Amish, including the peculiar illnesses that plauge this community. Add baby snatching, genetic research, and love interest to the mix and you have a romantic, medical thriller you can't put down until the last page is read.

I love Karen Harper and all that she writes and she doesn't disappoint in this book. Amishwoman Leah goes in to wake her adopted infant daughter and knows that something is wrong..she does not beleive that this is her child..she feels that her baby has been switched for another child and no one will beleive her...a great book you will love this one.

When I read the back of this book, I was inmmediately intrigued. I started reading it in the car as my husband drove us home from shopping. I picked it up again in late evening and read it some more. I finished it this morning. It was that good. This was the third in a trilogy. I intend to get the other two books as well. Another winner from a great author!

I did not realize this was part of a triology when I bought it at a used book store.
Not having read the others did not deter my reading, and did not change the storyline of these, this book read fine on it's own.
The book has a mystery feel to it with some light romance but I liked how there wasn't an overly sexual reference in the romance part, it was a very clean book.
I felt like I got a better feel of the Amish community and their beliefs and would reccomend this author and book to anyone who enjoys Linda Howard.
Great read, a real page turner and kept me hooked all the way to the end.

Excellent book - third in a series by Karen Harper. I enjoyed this book as much, if not more, than the others in the series!
One morning Leah Kurtz goes to wake her adopted infant daughter and instantly knows something is terribly wrong. She is convinced that her baby has been switched with another child. Afraid that no one will believe her, Leah turns to an unlikely ally, despite the fact that her Amish community frowns on its members seeking help in the outside world.
this is a very good book.
This was a great read...Very riviting mystery and as a mother "very disturbing" to know that something like this could happen to you.
My friend & I loved this series. We now have a new favorite author. Wonderful suspense.
Haunting yet tender. A suspensful romance that give insight to amish life.
Intriging, interesting. Good mystery.
Excellent read! I love all Harper's books. This is one of 3 set in Amish country. The author is great at explaining Amish terms and making you feel as if you can relate to them in our technology-driven world. This book had a few parts that weren't explained very well and I would have enjoyed it more if she would have explained it more. can't really explain without giving a part of the ending away.
Great book! This was my first Amish novel. Will definitely look for more from Karen Harper. Very thrilling and suspenseful!
This Amish trilogy is great. The mystery and romance is wonderful and you learn some Amish ways of life as well. I was glas to find this author and have read several since.
I have loved all of Karen Harpers books.
TRuly and great story- very interesting story line. Yes, highly recommended.
An easy read and good characters. I have liked her books.
Well-researched and rich in detail, this addictive follow-up to 2004's Dark Harvest transports readers back to the peaceful Amish community in rural Maplecreek, Ohio. Another interesting read by Harper.Amish are disappearing or are they just running away?
Great book. If you've read Dark Harvest this is a must.
Another look into the Amish ways. Leah moves into her best friends house to care for her baby after her death. A new genetic doctor comes to town to research a disease that plagues the Amish. Leagh goes to work for him and bad things begin to happen
This is the third novel in a series set in the Amish area of Maplecreek, Ohio. The other two are "Dark Road Home" and "Dark Harvest". The books can be read as stand-alones but share some key characters. I enjoyed this story about an Amish woman and a doctor of genetics who studies the illnesses that plague the Amish but not enough to use my credits on the first two books!
Not as believable a plot as the first two in the series but an enjoyable read none the less. Certainly cutting edge in terms of topic. An enjoyable read as usual from this author.
This is a very different plot line with very unusual characters. Would highly recommend to those looking for something a little different.
An Amish suspense novel.
Medical \ murder mystery set in Amish country. A decent read and fairly well-written.
great book!!
Great book! Was one I didn't want to put down...great twists in plot and interwoven among the Amish as well. Very interesting reading!
a quiet Amish community - a terrifying threat

Liked it
Very interesting story with a mix of Amish and non-Amish characters. Medical mystery and suspense and a sweet romance. Third in a series of books set in the same community. A very good read.
