This next installment of the Dark Series was sooo much better than the previous book. As in all the previous books, this is the story of a Carpathian male (Julian) who has nearly lost the will to continue living meeting up with his "lifemate" (Desari) and trying to convince her that she belongs with him. A lifemate gives color, emotions, feelings and meaning back to his world. In this book, the heroine actually had some backbone and power to stand up to the powerful Carpathian. Julian learns that the ancient women of his race have power - just a different kind of power than the men. I also really liked the interaction between Desari's brother and Julian. More is revealed about the "Carpathian" race in this book as well.

If you havent figured out by now i enjoy all of christine feehans books. Her tales with the carpathians have kept my on the edge of my seat as I envision a world where the heroes and villians are the same yet a small detail will make the carpathian male either lovable or pure evil. She weaves her tales in such a way that you must know what happens next. And she doesn't drop a person from a book and never leaves you wondering if they live or die. I hope she keeps this series going for a long time. Please read any of the series and you will get hooked like me.

The fifth in the ongoing original saga of the Carpathians, this one introduces us to four new characters as well as the twin, Julian, of the 'hero' in Dark Gold. It also introduces Desari (Dara) a Carpathian Female who is equal in power to Julian, which makes for an interesting situation as none of the Carpathian males (except those in Desari's 'family unit') are used to dealing with Carpathian women who are the equal of their power. It also brings a unique twist into the mix as the two carpathian females introduced to us, each have a unique power that the Carpathian males were unaware that Carpathian women of power have.

Nice, but you still want more. This one was good but I have read better of her's. There are too many open ends in this one for my taste. But still a good read. Too much mushy romance/sex and not enough of the charictures and really no plot whatsoever.
Oh and not all covers look like the one with the panther on it, the one I recieved has the tacky woman hanging off the man cover. lol Up until I saw the tacky cover I was able to get away with telling everyone they are not romance novels. You just can't do that with a tacky stary eyed woman hanging on to his pants leg,on the floor, staring up at him like he is a god of somekind, while the big hunky guy stands there looking all fabioish. lol Just not what you want to see on the cover of a vampire type of novel.
