This departure from his earlier books is a fast-paced thriller.

I like Bernhardt's books anyway, but this new female detective and her autistic/savant friend make an interesting pair of investigators. Throw in alcoholism, lost custody of a niece, and the murders of young women in Las Vegas and you have a story worth staying up all night for.

I just fiished this book and enjoyed it a great deal. It is quite unlike all of Bernhardt's other books, mostly legal thrillers.
