While I have truly enjoyed all the Dark series books thus far, this one is THE best (so far). Do read them in order if you can, but hold on tight--for this one. I believe in giving your loved one the ultimate choice of his/her future - and if they even want a future with you...then they must choose it. This time, in this book, Tempest has a choice - it s not made for her. I am not giving this story line away, but I love the interaction of these two characters. Just fantastic!

In the continuing story of the Carpathian race, it is Darius' turn to find his lifemate. Desari, the singing sensation, has hired a female mechanic to care for the vehicles in their touring company. Darius is Desari's brother and in charge of security for the band. As soon as Darius sets eyes on Tempest, he claims her as his lifemate. Tempest, however, is human, and terrified of Darius. Darius decides to court Tempest, but dangers threaten all of them as the group of assassins threatening Darius' sister Desari are closing in and they see the new mechanic as a way to get close to their prey.

These are ok. I'll read more of them but I'll space them way out. They seem kind of repetitive to some degree.

Another winner for Feehan! I couldn't put it down. It has become one of my favorites in this series.

To date, I am reading these in order and this is one of my favorites. I loved that this group of Carpathians are different than the others from the Carpathian Mountains. I do find it interesting that Darius, as a boy, could keep two female infants alive in the wild when more powerful ancients can't figure it out. Just food for thought.... Maybe his knowledge will come in handy later in the series. As always, the romantic and sensual parts never disappoint.

Fantastic! I love all the Carpathian books, but Darius is one of my favorite characters. I can't help but admire him, talk about a self made man. Tempest is no simpering miss herself... sparks fly in this one. It was nice to get more of the backstory on the battle that seperated him and his siblings from the rest of the Carpathians. I can't wait to hear more about the larger than life Lucien & Gabriel.
