This is awesome! They've put the paranormals I love to read so much into my other great love...MANGA! For those of you not familiar with manga, it's a graphic novel, much like a thick comic book. So if you don't care of comic books or graphic novels, this is not for you.
From back of book:
He is Riordan...Carpathian male. Immortal. Seer. Now trapped and caged, his honor is compromised by his captors. They're in his mind. They're in his blood. But not one of them can withstand his desire for revenge.
She is Juliette...A beautiful activist devoted to the liberation of animals from the foul and humid confines of a secret jungle lab. What she has stumbled upon is unexpected - a prisoner like no other she has ever seen. Or touched.
She will release him from his bonds. He will release her from her inhibitions. Each has a voracious appetite that must be sated.

A fun manga version of Feehan's short story. Note, if you are looking for this is novel format, the story was originally published in the anthology Hot Blooded.
That aside, this is a good story for those familiar with the Carpathian series, and not too too racy. However, if you don't know about the Carpathians, this does not offer a lot of background, and may be confusing.

I wish I had read the reviews regarding this book. It's like a comic book, not what I was expecting.

Honestly I grew up loving comics like Richie Rich and Casper the Friendly Ghost and thought I would like this too but this is terrible. The characters look so much alike from the profile that it is hard to tell them apart and the little bit of story there is with it reads like "Me Big Strong Tarzan, U Little Jane, Me Taking UR Blood Now, Yes Please I So Dizzy, Now UR Mine"
So my advice to all the Carpathian fans who are looking at this as an interesting addition to the series "Save your money and time. It is not worth it"

Well, this genre/format is not my preference. Story line was minimal. If you like graphic novels, you will like this book.
This book is like a comic book, cartoons are done in black and white.
Got this book for my wife as she is a fan of the author and has the 13 prior books in series. Did not read reviews and know this was a illustrated book. The wife read one page and gave it back and said put it back on the list to trade. She hated the graphics and "comic book" feel.
I'm not into comic books. I honestly couldn't even get through the whole thing. Very disappointed that this was a comic book.
Very good version of this story. I love Christine Feehan's books. This version is in comic book form, but it follows the story line of the real book by Feehan pretty close. If you want a short version of a good book with pictures then this is the one to get.
This book is written in comic-style MANGA, not traditional-novel text format. Story line is exactly the same as the anthology version in Hot Blooded: ISBN-10: 0425206580. Christine Feehan author.
very good, one of her best ones.
To begin, I don't read a lot of manga or a lot of graphic novels so I can't speak of the quality of this versus anything else in either genre. I bought it because I'm a Christine Feehan fan, and I'm reviewing it with other Feehan fans in mind.
Riordan is a Carpathian warrior long removed from his homeland. Captured by evil humans under the influence of a master vampire, he is tortured and desperate. Juliette is a woman of the Jaguar people, a mysterious race of shape shifters who dwell in the jungles of South America. She discovers and frees Riordan. He is shocked to discover that she is his lifemate, the key to restoring emotion and color to his cold and dreary life.
I think the artwork and layout gave this story a very unique and sensual feel. It follows the story of the original novella faithfully, but adds a vividness to the story.
The story itself is action-packed and romantic. It fits in well with the series while offering something new. The Jaguar people, for example, are an intriguing feature.
The book relies on the reader's previous acquaintance with and understanding of Feehan's Dark universe--most importantly, the rules of Carpathian culture. If you have not read the other Dark books, expect to be lost.
Some readers may prefer the novella version. It can be found in the anthology Hot Blooded, and is a good alternative.
I cannot recommend this to manga fans, etc. I do, however, recommend it to fans of the 'Dark' series who are looking to expand their collection.

Love the entire series, wish they were all on cd
Wow. I loved the story of Riordan and Juliette. When turned into a graphic novel it's awesome. The graphic novel version of Christine Feehan's Dark Hunger made the story come alive even more. From the view of Riordan chained in he lab to the waterfall scenes to the hunt for Jasmine and her rescue, the story keeps you on the edge of your seat. Juliette and Riordan's happily ever-after is a great read.
A bit too syrupy, but has the essence of the series.
I was expecting the real book, not a comic book. I was greatly disappointed.
Please note that this is a comic book. It it rated T+ with mild violence. I was not aware of this when I recieved this book. So if your looking for a comic book by christine feehan this could be the one.
my copy of this book is a Comic Book. i was very disapointed.
