This is an amazingly historical book, well written, with very specific details about Jennie Jerome's life in New York, Paris and her involvement in the politics of the UK in the early part of XX Century. Charles Higham makes a linear description of life in Europe and the Middle East during Jennie's time. Her personal life as wife and mother is covered in detail, her extra-marital relationships just add spice to the story. I loved it.

I didn't enjoy it mostly because the author made absolute statements that were absurd, like that she never wore a dress more than once (maybe never more than once to a party but one would have time to shop daily for hours just to acquire enough dresses). Also her life was not inspiring and so after about 50% read I gave up and went to another book
