This book is about a serial killer who is terrorizing Sacramento CA. Lizzy is compelled to go after the Lovebird Killer. It is a reminder for Lizzy Gardner who had an ordeal with the serial killer, Spiderman, in the past. I found this book to be the best book by far than the other two. Although it is more than gruesome and very dark, I found it hard-to-put-down and the other books hardly held my interest. I enjoyed all the quotes at the beginning of the chapters that were references from other serial killers. I enjoy true crime books about serial killers so that was an added feature for me. I am looking forward to the next book in the series as the books seem to be getting better with each book. If you enjoy dark and gritty books, then I think you will enjoy this series.
This book is a riveting story about a serial killer. Each chapter begins with a quote from a famous serial killer, TED BUNDY, DAVID BERKOWITZ, RICHARD RIMERIZ etc. these are the killers heroes. The killer's speciality is killing couples who are obviously in love. He does this after careful research into the couples' lives. If he cannot wait until his next couple, he finds someone else to fill his perverted desires. He correctly figures that they will not be connected to his speciality, the Lovebird Killings. The killer is described so well, his reasoning, his life. You become involved with him as though you have known him for years. Lizzy Gardner PI, her niece Haley, her sister Haley's mom who is in an abusive relationship and Jessica her assistant. Are so much a part of the story, you feel as though you have known them for years. The book grips you from page one and never let's you go. A quote sums it up, "The world's fascination with evil is understandable. Not only were regular citizens mesmerized by killers--the more pictures the better--killers were also fascinated by them. The book grabs you from page one and never let's you go. Great, Great!!
