I enjoyed this book. It is up there with the Devil In Ct, although the Devil in CT is better. It is creepy and a quick read. I live a mile from this house and know Lorraine Warren and Ray Garton. As a matter of fact both of my hard cover copies of this book are signed by them in person. The history of the house and the conversations I've had with both Ray and Lorraine make the book a gem for me. I wouldn't swap one of my copies but I would consider a sale.... I have alot of books signed by these two...
After hearing the hype about this book and subsequent film, I requested it via an inter-library loan. I love tales of the supernatural; however, this book was way overrated and quite disappointing. The writing was terrible and the book was rather brief. Also, for being touted as a true haunting, this book did not scare me at all. It contained some extremely perverse events and troubled behavior among family members, but was not "creepy" in the way that I had expected. Overall, it was an extreme letdown. I recommend saving your money and borrowing it from the library.
