I liked Jackson's conversational style. Most of the tales were deliciously unsettling, and there were only a few that I didn't quite get. Nothing overtly horrifying or jump-out-of-the-closet scary; the subtle creep factor set in the normalcy of every day life is what I found most appealing, similar to my favorite episodes of the Twilight Zone. About half of the collection are real standouts. 4 stars.
