I gave this a really unfair rating because I read Blown Away first. If I read this one first, I probably would have given Blown Away a very low rating instead. Basically the characters are the same in both books but with different names. We are talking about down to the cheating ex-fiance and Tony being with her at first to pay back someone. Add on the sheriff, security experts, and a PI. Same exact thing. There even the same scenes and thoughts by the characters. Needless to say, I feel really ripped off by Sala.
So here is my advice about the book. If you have read Blown Away, don't waste your time on this one and vice versa. This is the only the third book I have read by Sala. I plan to read more books by her but I really hope she is not a one-trick pony.

A 20year old Corpse is found on the bottom of a Lake, locked in a Trunk. The Man accused of robbing the bank He worked at of one million dollars and disappearing, was innocent and Murdered. His Wife could'nt stand the pressure and committed suicide,leaving thier 10 yr old Daughter to be raised by someone else. Now the Daughter returns to claim Her Fathers remains, and also to prove His innocence. At the risk of Her own life...Because the Killer is still very much alive.......

Great book. Sarah's father had been accused of stealing money and Sarah's mom couldn't face the town's critism so she committed suicide. Then 10 years later her Dad's body is discovered and people start to realize they accused the wrong person. The killer thinks if they just get rid of Sarah things will die back down so Sarah is not only looking for her Dad's killer but trying to stay alive long enough to discover the truth. a couple of interesting side characters, no real hot scenes--more of a sweet book in that regard.

Sarah Whitman left Marmet, Maine as a broken-hearted child. Her father, Franklin, had been accused of stealing a million dollars from the bank in which he worked and then disappeared. Soon afterward, not able to continue enduring the ridicule of the town, her mother committed suicide. Sarah then moves to New Orleans with her mother's best friend and she vows never to return. Twenty years later, when an armored car is robbed, and a teller is kidnapped, the assailant decides to ditch the car and hostage in Flagstaff Lake, only to die during this escapade. While divers try to retrieve his body, they find a chest holding the remains of Franklin Whitman. Sarah returns to Marmet to give her father a proper burial, to find his killer, and avenge her parents' deaths.
Tony DeMarco had come back to Marmet to lend his support to Sarah. Seems Franklin was young Tony's mentor and he feels obligated to help Sarah to pay his debt to her father. Sounds a little convoluted, but it was actually sweet. When he sees Sarah though, all thoughts of being a gallant gentleman escape as he falls head over heels in lust with her. When an attempt on Sarah's life fails, Tony realizes he feels more than lust and also understands that she's upset her father's killer with her vow to uncover the real thief and murderer.

I enjoyed it very much. The romance part was expected but the plot was good.

inwas going to order this book but i remember reading it and it was a good story and the action kept you turning the pages. a good book.
