Great story from page 1! Starts with a young girl preparing to give birth and hide the baby in the closet, then tells the story of the family coming back together after they are turned in to CPS.

This is a heartbreaking story of teenaged sisters caught up in a set of circumstances that you wouldn't wish on anyone. It's full of sadness and joy, love and despair. The writer does a wonderful job of transporting the reader into a world of secrecy and fear.

This book seemed to be a melting pot of every possible social dysfunction known to man. You have the death of a mother, the emotional neglect by a father, child neglect and abandonment, throw in a pedophile, the foster care system, the public school system failings, teen pregnancy and two girls delivering a baby at home and keeping it in the closet and the story becomes beyond believable. The characters are cumbersome, the writing dry and the plot stretched beyond imagination. Not a book I would recommend to anyone else.

Her Daughter's Eyes
Author: Jessica Barksdale Inclan

In an upper middle-class neighborhood, on a street like Wildwood Drive, things like this are not supposed to happen.... Sixteen-year-old Kate is going to have a baby. She's done all to prepare for the new child's birth but one thing: She hasn't told anyone. Except for her younger sister. Together, all they have is a crib made out of cardboard, sheets from the Goodwill...and hope. Hope that somehow, with the newborn baby in arms, everyone will forgive.
