I was looking forward to Ramsey Gallagher's story so I hate high expectations. The plot itself was okay but the bad guys didn't quite do it for me. The whole things was just very sluggish. I can't quite pinpoint the problem with the book. Also the dialogue between the characters changes from colloquial to regency romance. The relationship between Ramsey and Madison was weird as well. It was like out of nowhere they were in love. The book doesn't quite flow properly and it seemed without direction.
It was okay. It wasn't so bad that I couldn't finish it but finishing it also left me with the feeling of mediocrity.
They mention the Marshalls and the big fight with Ramsey's "brother" but no cameos of those bad boys which is disappointing.
I definitely wouldn't spend money on this book. If you can find it at a local library or borrow it from someone, go for it.
