A perfect switch. An historic book. Woman changes the cold-hearted man of a warm and loving person. Good read. 5 Stars.

Day Dreamer and Just Once are connected in that the main characters meet and change places. Celine has psychic powers that are part of the story but aren't the focus of it. Accused of murder, she leaves the States and ends up on an island as the intended wife of someone who is not thrilled to have her there. It was a good book, but not my favorite.

A young girl is given the opportunity from a complete stranger to change places in their lives. Not knowing where she is going or what is to become of her she accepts, thinking that nothing can be worse than the life she is in. An excellent read, this book is filled with intrigue and wonder as you watch a young girl's life unfold as she pretends to be someone else. Will her life become the life she only daydreams about or does it become a nightmare? This really is a great book!

This was my first experience with Jill Marie Landis, who I guess has now moved on to writing more Christian-themed books. This one was much racier than her more recent ones, she told me on Facebook. I felt it was a good introduction to her as an author, and I look forward to reading more of her books.
It's a mistaken -- or rather, switched -- identity story, of two women unhappy with their current situations, who change places. The heroine of the book goes on to marry a man she has never met and who is frankly, pretty awful to her at first. But he has been hurt a lot in his life and so I guess it is understandable that he would be unwilling to trust her.
There are lots of plot twists to keep you entertained here, and overall a good read.

First, I dont care for a character to have supernatural powers; it instantly takes the story out of the realm of everyman (or everywoman). Im sure that Im in the minority but I cant really get emotionally involved in this side of a character.
This is my first Jill Marie Landis book and I was impressed with her command of writing great dialog. Shes also adept at describing scenes that are interesting and engaging. Landis takes us from the seamier side of New Orleans (in 1816) to a sumptuous New Orleans plantation to a passenger ship and finally to a tropical island in the West Indies.
All of the important (main and secondary) characters were well-drawn. This book gives a great look at a functioning plantation and the interaction between all its residents.
Cord and Celine were interesting and complex; the way Celine got the chance to marry Cord was a bit hokey but otherwise their interaction rang true. This is an interesting story of the early 1800s life in the South except for the items Ive already mentioned.

Celine Winters has been accused of a double murder. While hiding out in a New Orleans church, she is approached by a woman who asks her to switch places. For Celine, this is a chance to escape her troubles. Little does she know, she is walking into an arranged marriage to a man she has never met before.
This was an entertaining story. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series. My rating: 4 Stars.

Celine is approached on the streets of New Orleans by a woman wanting to switch places. For her, it means to escape her problems and this would change their lives. She would marry a man she has never met and live in a land she has never seen.
wow! What a great read
