This was a very likable book. It did take a bit for me to get settled in and really enjoy it but once I did, I was there for the ride. From what I understand, this book is a prequel to the author's book Sea of Rust. I haven't read that one but now look forward to doing so. This book centers around a robot named Pounce and his journey into saving the one thing he loves the most, his ward Ezra. The journey was sweet, sad and violent. The only issue I had was there were so many battles and they seemed overly detailed to the point I ended up skimming over some of them.
