Second in the series. I read the first just a little while ago, and was kind of on the fence about it. But I knew there was another one in the series and figured it would be worth checking out. I'm glad I did. In the last book, Rainy spent a lot of time obsessing about her Big Secret, but now that's out of the way she's an enjoyable character. I liked her "redneck" dialogue more this time around - maybe it's toned down this time or maybe I just adapted to it. I liked the mystery plot; I didn't try to guess the murderer but I wasn't too surprised when that was revealed. Nice sense of place, interesting secondary characters. Lots of good horse stuff too. I don't think it will go on my "ten best" list, but I hope there's a third in the series.
