Too cute, too annoying, and too similar to the UNDEAD series by MaryJanice Davidson. If you like cute, fluffy vampire reads with vain, self-centered heroines then you'll undoubtedly love this book. I won't be reading any others in the series myself.

It took a lot longer than it should have for me to read this book. I was pretty disappointed even though a lot of the reviews I read were not good. I'm usually pretty easy to please but the plot left a lot to be desired and didn't hold my interest. I read this because I had heard it was like the queen betsy series, I LOVE the queen betsy series and this is SO not even close. I may read the next book to see if the story improves any as it goes on but probably not.

Cute, light-hearted book about a vampire who starts a dating service. Reminded me of MaryJanice Davidson's "Undead" series. Looks like this is the first in a series - I will definitly take the time to read the next one.

An MJD Queen Betsy knockoff. Clever but not clever enough.

If you've read any of the Betsy the Vampire Queen books or anything like it, you will LOVE this book. It's a funny and witty vampire-lite, chick-lit-type book that had me cracking up on page one. I had to read it start to finish in one sitting because I just couldn't put it down and am definitely looking forward to book 2 because this looks like another series I'll get hooked on.

A bit slow toward the middle in regards to her love interest. Not so boring that I couldn't finish reading but the storyline just seemed to be stuck (and predictable) I will read the second book though, so not too bad.

I really wanted to like this book... I normally love this genre but this book did not measure up. So many times while reading it, I wanted to just throw it out the window (we were travelling while I was reading it) but I kept on. It never got any better. The mystery was wrapped up quickly in the last chapter and the heroine is whiny, self-centered, vain. She is definitely NOT what I would call a strong heroine and considering that she is a vampire... she is WEAK. So why am I reading the second book? Call me an optimist... I am hoping the series will improve.

This is a fun mystery, romance, and oh yeah, vampire book. I like that the main character is a female vampire - it seems like so many vampire romances focus on the guys being the big scary monsters. Not that Lil is a big scary monster by a long shot. The cover says "a novel," but "Dead End Dating" is the first in its series.
I think if you like chick lit with a paranormal twist you'll like this story. Also, I imagine liking "Sex and the City" will help, as the main character seems like someone straight out of its script.

I didn't really enjoy this. I thought it was too long and too silly.

A light-hearted story of murder and matchmaking in the Manhattan vampire community. 500-year-old countess Lil is a very modern vampire whose love for pink is only surpassed by her love of romance. First in a series to come.

Fun read. Good for fans of MaryJanice Davidson. A light easy read.

I don't really like when an author changes vampire lore to better suit their plot. This author has all kinds of rules about born vamps vs. made vamps and it kind of annoys me. The story was interesting though and I would read more by her. The main character loves love and decides to start a dating service mostly for vampires to find their eternity mates. She falls for a made vamp bounty hunter in the process and together they are trying to catch a murderer.

A cute start to a new vampire series.

Fun! If you like Charlaine Harris and Nina Bangs, I think you will enjoy this book.

Easy to read, relatively cute. Few very pop culture references which are telling in a way, in that I can't imagine that they will hold up all that well so it kind of time-stamps the books.
But a vampire love story? that's pretty cute. I'll try anything once. :)

Cute Maryjanice Davison clone about a Gucci-obsessed vampire who opens a matchmaking service in Manhattan. Hilarity ensues as she tries to match a moteley assortment of vamps, weres, and humans while on the trail of a serial killer who preys on lonely women...

This book took a bit to get started but once it did it turned out to be a cute read. The main character is a bit shallow, but when its all said and done, I will probably read the next in the series.

This book is about a lady vampire who actually believes in love and starts up a dating service and ends up falling for a cowboy vampire who is below her on the social ladder while looking for a kidnapper together...do they get together and do they find the kidnapper? You'll have to read the book to figure that one out!

Really fun read - quite entertaining. I will definitely read more by this author.

Reminds me of MaryJanice Davidson's Undead series... Cute and funny great read to unwind from a stressful day... I will continue reading the series.
Vampire Lil decided she wants to run a dating service for vampire and humans, and not letting her human receptionist know she's a vampire....

Cute! Very blonde, but a good read anyway. I'm going to continue on with this series.
It's def one of those easy read type books...but it was a fun read. I enjoyed it and have read the rest of the series as well.

This is a great chick lit. This is a strong woman (or vampire) who makes a go a her own business while shopping for the best clothes. My type of gal. She finds fun and trouble around corners and keeps her eyes on the hot bounty hunter who is hot. Many say this is close to the Undead series by Davidson. I have not read that series since the cover was not enough to get me to open the book. Kimberlye Raye knows how to captivate a reader.
A nice light hearted vampire romance with out graphic violence.
This is the first I've read by this author and really enjoyed the book.
great book, a fun read.

This book is very light reading and reminded me alot of Mary Janice Davidson. It was funny and i can't wait to read the sequel.
BITING IS SO LAST SEASON.
A vivacious vampire with a flair for accessorizing, Lil Marchette is unlike most of her kind. She prefers lively shades of pink to dismal black (so not her color), plus she's a hopeless romantic. In need of a steady paycheck to support a compulsive cosmetics habit, Lil starts Dead End Dating (DED), a Manhattan-based matchmaking service that helps smart, sophisticated singles like herself find eternity mates--and may even help her stake a claim to her very own Count Right!
When Lil meets geeky vampire Francis Deville, she knows he's the perfect first client. If she can hook up Francis--after a little revamping, of course--she will prove her skills to the vampire community and turn DED into the hottest dating service in the Big Apple. But just as her business takes off, Lil meets the (literally) drop-dead gorgeous bounty hunter Ty Bonner, who is hot on the chase of a serial killer. Instantly drawn to the luscious vamp stud, Lil really wants a taste. But as a made vampire, Ty can't procreate--and Lil will settle for nothing less. Luckily, between "vampifying" Francis and helping Ty solve his murder mystery, Lil has no time for silly romantic entanglements...even if Ty is all that and a Bloody Mary chaser!

I love what I call "campy vampy" novels and that's what Dead End Dating is. The books mixes fantasy with humor and mystery and a little romance.
Lil (the main characater in the book) is awesome. She loves pink (black doesn't make her look good), she gets a spray on tan and "lives" for Janet Evanovich novels. Amen!
I could have devoured this book in one evening. But I forced myself to read it in several evenings to get the most of out the experience.
I can't wait to read 2 and 3 and 4 and 5.....

Realy good/funny series.
Great paranormal!
Okay - amusing
Was funny, but could have used more romance. Interesting idea for a book, obvious setup for sequels and has excerpt for next book, "Dead and Dateless".
To be fair this isn't the kind of book I usually read. Lil is annoying and shallow which I guess is the appeal of this book? I have tried to pick it up many times but it's just terrible. I gave it 189 pages, painfully, I won't finish it.

Light, fun read!
I really enjoyed this book. Raye did a good job of setting up mutiple prospects for the the ending, so while you could guess, you wheren't %100 sure till the end. I am also curious about the whole made versus born Vamp thing. It will be interesting to see how that is developed.
This is a fun read - perfect for summer! It hooked me enough that I'm ready to read the other books in the series.
A light humorous read about a vampire dating service set in modern times.
This does for vampires, what Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum did for Miss Marple! Laugh-out-loud funny dialogue.
This book was witty and very funny. I can wait to read the next in the series!
great kick off for a new series
This book as a fast read. The story was fun, if a little bit silly. I read this in about 2 days. Who would have thought that a vampire dating service in NYC would turn out to be such a good story.
Funny novel about an unlikely vampire-who prefers bright pink to black--who starts a dating service for vampires and falls in love herself.
A very fast, funny read.
It was quick, breezy read that distracted me from being sick, a forty page paper, and other homework! I loved it and can't wait for the next one to come out.
Cute story, but no great novel.
Favorite new author!!!
I like Lil. A flawed character but lovable. The plots are interesting. She gets herself into her own messes, which afterall is what most people do, isn't it?
It was a quick and fun read. Hope the rest are the same way
Pretty cute!

I did not like this book at all ~ it was a very boring Betsy clone. There are much better vamp series out there.
