I was surprised! This book did not get good reviews and I was really just reading it to find out what happens next, but it kept me interested! I enjoyed it more than book 9 thats for sure. It did not seem rushed as her last book. There are a few things I would change about it but overall it was a good addition to the series.

Okay, this one definitely went a bit off the "deep end," but I still thought it was rather good fun. I think she is trying to make the books in the series less predictable, and as a result has started just almost throwing random stuff in. But, hey, they're still great fun to read, so I really don't care if some elements seem a bit too random.

Not the best in this series, and not the worst. This book starts off slowly. Things start happening towards the last 1/3 of the book, everything happens quickly. Interesting end.

as a continuation of the series, this series is more about reading a "day in the life" than solving any mystery or anything of that nature. The series is reminding me of the older books of a similar vein. This was a fast, enjoyable read.

Not my favorite book in the series so far. Still a good read if you are reading the series straight through.

As Sookie Stackhouse is recovering from the injuries she suffered at the hands of the faeries, she agrees to let the Weres use her property when the moon is full. She is startled when one of the Weres tells her that he could smell that a Faery had been in her woods, especially since the door to Faery has been closed. He also told her that there was a body buried on her property. Soon her Fae cousin, Claude, shows up on her doorstep, asking if he could move in for a little while. Sookie wonders if he is the Faery wondering in her woods, or if there are more Fae in the area.

Dead in the Family is an appropriate title for this book which deals with all kinds of family problems. Sookie is dealing with her cousin moving in. Eric is paid a visit by his "father" who has brought along a new "brother" for Eric. Sam is dealing with the fallout of his people finding out they have shifters in their family. Bill is dealing with his family, both alive and dead. And everyone is trying to help Sookie figure out who buried a body on her property.

I'm surprised by the negative reviews about this book. I thought this was a very solid entry in the series. It may not have as much action as some of the previous books, but the various threads are interesting and kept me entertained. My rating: 4.5 Stars.

I think I missed reading the previous book in this series. Or I just forgot part of the history since it has been so long since I read the last one. When the story opened I was confused with some of the things that were happening as a result of the previous book. It took me quite a few pages to 'catch up' on the storyline. Once I was, tho, I enjoyed it. I thought it was a bit less than her past work; almost like it was a hurry-up-and finish-it installment. Still, I enjoyed my visit with the people of Bon Temps and hope to return soon with her next book which was recently released.
