The gang's all here in the third installment of the Ghost Dusters series. Sadie can never seem to find a moment of normalcy, and in this episode, she's got her hands full once again. Dead and Kicking provides more drama, more angry ghosts, and more of the characters we've come to love.

I love this series, and was sad to hear that the publisher has decided not to continue it.

3rd in series, much better than the last one..

In this installment Sadie and Zack are asked by Zack's ex-girlfriend, Paula to clean out her mothers house (which should be featured on an episode of Hoarders) Sadie discovers not only a mummified baby corpse, but an angry, violent ghost as well. When Zack gets injured on the job site, nurse Paula comes running to his side and will stop at nothing to get her man back. Sadie trys deperately to help the police in figuring out a way to get rid of the ghost so they can continue their investigation. Who knew that all the secrets are lying within Paula's demented mother, who lives in a nursing home, and suffers a severe case of Alzheimers. Someone or something is out to stop Sadie from uncovering the truth, with multiple murder attempts, and a magnitude of fire and mayhem.

I really enjoy the series, and eagerly await the next installment. This book was much less complicated than the last, and I enjoyed every page. It has a good twist of paranormal, without all the vampires and wolves.

Really enjoyed this one in the series. I was riveted and read it in one day. There are some new characters introduced, lots of action and mystery, too. Great ending~I love when an author ties up all the loose ends.

I liked this 3rd book for everything but the background story on the angry ghost. It was a tad too much of a real serious subject for a cozy mystery in my opinion!

Sadie's third appearance in the Ghost Dusters series. Sadie's dad has died and his spirit has not passed over. Her boyfriend, Zack, is being distant and her crime scene cleaning business is slow. Sadie steps into chaos when she discovers Zack has agreed to help his ex with her mom's house. The house is filled from floor to ceiling with junk and a very angry ghost. Great continuation of the series. I am sad to hear that Wendy will not be writing more. 4 stars

First Line: The cemetery smelled of freshly mowed grass.

Sadie Novack's brother committed suicide. It was several days before his body was found. The grieving Sadie had to clean his apartment. Vowing that no other family would have to do that while she had anything to say about it, Sadie quit her job and went into business for herself cleaning crime scenes. Along the way she discovered that she has another talent: she can see the dead and help them come to terms with what's happened.

Right now Sadie is going through a rough patch. Her father has died and doesn't show any signs of wanting to move on. Her boyfriend, Zack, is spending a lot of time with a former girlfriend, and Sadie is trying to take care of jobs for a second cleaning company while its owner is out of town on business. In the midst of all this, she finds herself shoveling out the house of a hoarder, and there's a very angry ghost trying to keep Sadie off the second floor. There seems to be something buried under all the trash that's worth killing for.

I enjoy this series, and this was another good entry. Although the crime scene clean-up can be a bit stomach turning from time to time, I still find those scenes interesting, but it's Sadie that makes me come back for each new installment. She's a very real character, and while I'm reading about her, I can run through so many different emotions: sadness, compassion, irritation, confusion, rage, and laugh-out-loud humor. I don't like a lot of "woo woo" in my reading, but the paranormal scenes where Sadie deals with ghosts are very well done and don't overload any of the circuits in my fuse box.

If you enjoy reading Charlaine Harris's Harper Connolly series, you should enjoy this series as well. I do.
