A delightful -- and graphic -- look into the world of forensic science. Two writers, one brilliant and eloquent and one a Gil Grissom-type scientist who could use some sensitivity training. (In one chapter he builds the reader up to a climax by saying that a certain moment was the most poignant scene he'd ever witnessed. Finally, we get to the scene and he doesn't describe it for the reader, only says again that it was the most poignant scene he'd ever witnessed. Can anyone spell "Let Down"?) Still a great read and thought-provoking entertainment. Don't miss the chapter describing the convention of forensic scientists!

I just finished this book and thought it was a wonderful introduction to forensic sciences. Easy for a lay person to understand yest detailed enough to hold a non beginner's interest. It is a bit ponderous in places but over all is an excellent book.

I found this book extremely interesting. The insider's view of crime and blood and autopsy are enlightening. It discusses specific cases as well as describing things like "blood spatter school" and prison/gang tattoos.
