Great story. I enjoy her style and character intertwining. This one starts out caving and of course a body is found -- what does one expect in this genre :)
There are a number of turns in this story -- some expected; some surprising. The final ending that resolves all the loose ends was odd, not expected but fit. I was disappointed in that the author thanks someone about their knowledge on knives but the story didn't bring all that much information about knives to the forefront.

The characters are distinct and well-drawn, and the writing is brisk. Weird as it seems, though, I knew the "who-dun-it" long before I understood the "why-dun-it." It's weird because my knowledge of the "who" was erroneously deduced from an unrelated subplot handled later in the story. That was my only surprise: the strange subplot that threaded its way through the story.

Beverly Conner is on her way to being another Patricia Cromwell. This story opens with forensic anthropoligist Diane Fallon and her caving team find a very old skeleton in the cave. Soon after she and Mike, one of her caving team are stabbed. They find a dead woman in the woods and two more bodies in a querry. Not long after that an old car with skeleton in it is found. Without a link to the victims Diane can't fathom the connection, but someonc watching can. Will Diane and hre team figure it out before one of them are hurt or worse.

Excellent book about anthropolgist Dian Fallon finding a decades old skeleton in a cave, which leads to more modern murders. Great read - I could hardly put it down.

This entire series is really great. Diane Fallon is a great character; very strong , yet very human as well. It is really refreshing to read about a woman who is not ever pictured, in any version of, wringing her hands. One caveat: Don't read the most recent in the series first( I can't remember the exact title so you will have to check the publication dates), other than that ,these books do not have to be read in order.

This is the third in Connors Diane Fallon series. Diane is a forensic anthropologist who wears two hats one as a museum director and the other running the towns crime lab. Connor manages to put in interesting information about various subjects in ways that don't feel like lectures, which I like. In DEAD SECRET, Diane finds an old skeleton while exploring an unmapped cave, and determines the person was murdered. The discovery of two bodies in a sunken car from the same time period as the skeleton complicates the picture. Someone, however, would like the past to stay secret. This is a nice fast read, with some fun twists.
