I got to disc 4 and stopped. The narrator was decent. She used a southern-ish accent to emphasize the area this book takes place in.

I liked the fact that her telepathy was seen as a disability. People either thought she was crazy or told her to stay out of their thoughts. It wasn't considered normal, unlike in most supernatural books where people seem to just take it in stride if they know about it. The author seemed to sometimes forget that Sookie could do that, though. When she interviews people (humans, at any rate) in certain parts of the book, Sookie only says what they say, forgetting to also note what they were thinking.
Sookie and the characters around her were interesting. The plot was interesting, but it wasn't compelling. I think I was supposed to feel like I was in suspense when she starts questioning people, but I felt bored.
The thing that finally made me stop listening though was the fact that she had sex on her dead grandmother's bed right after her death. It just creeped me out. The description of the act was just really corny, too.
I just couldn't get into this book.
