This is a great book for people who are looking for books in the Christian mystery/suspense genre! But it isn't just that, it also has a lot of heart, and you can really get to know the main character, Jake Woods as he is brought to Christ through a tragic accident. Showing that out of the pits of despair, God can pick you up.

Involved in a tragic accident under suspicious circumstances, award-winning journalist Jake Woods must draw upon all his resources in order to uncover the truth in this Randy Alcorn bestseller. Jake soon finds himself swept up in a murder investigation that is both complex and dangerous. Unaware of the threat to his own life, he struggles for answers to the mystery at hand and in doing so is plunged into a deeper search for the meaning to his own existence.

I loved this book. It starts out slow, but it is setting the ground work for the whole series, so stick with it. The last 3rd of the book really picks up and gets good. THen the next two books in the series are phenomenal (Dominion and Deception)! DEFINITLY worth the read.

When I first started reading this book, I thought it was going to be a "tough" read. I was wrong though. It was a hard one to put down. It had lots of moral questions, and also had a view of Heaven. I really enjoyed this book.

This book is full of surprises with twists in the plot and kept me guessing right up to the end as to "who done it". My husband and I both had trouble putting it down at night. The characters are believable and the glimpses of Heaven encouraging.

A good job of building characters but maybe a bit too much grandstanding on some issues. Good thoughts about heaven.

A horrible accident leaves two dead and one wondering about an awful lot of stuff. When Jake finally comes to comprehend what has happened, his world will never be the same!
Written with a flair for truth and good story-telling, Deadline is a riveting story, well worth it!
In addition to having a clear view of Scripture, Randy Alcorn knows how to weave a tale! I thoroughly enjoyed this book-in fact, I intend to reread it in the coming months. While I may not post it for transfer, I most certainly recommend this tale of intrigue and double-dealing.

When tragedy strikes those closest to him, award-winning journalist Jake Woods must draw upon all his resources to uncover the truth about their suspicious accident. Soon, he finds himself swept up in a murder investigation that is both complex & dangerous. But, unaware of the threat to his own life, Jake becomes drawn in deeper & deeper as he desperately searches for answers to the immediate mystery at hand and --ultimately--the deeper meaning of his own existence.

"Deadline" is a dramatic & vivid novel of substance, filled with hope & perspective for every reader who longs to feel purpose in life.

I highly recommend ANYTHING Randy Alcorn writes!

This is truly a fantastic book and makes you re-evaluate your life to see what it really important. I loved the different perspectives that the book is told from as well. Kind of reminds me of the author Tim LaHaye (of Left Behind series), which I really liked.

When Jake is the only survivor of a car wreck, he is stunned to discover it wasn't an accident .... filled with suspense & like other books by Alcorn, drama alternates between earth and heaven.

The first book to equal Dante. A first class thriller with scenes of what is going on in heaven at the same time. Very informative, well written and exciting.

I think I have read one of his books and if I remember correctly it was slow starting.

I started this one, but it is slow going and I stopped since I had so many other books to read.

If someone wants it now, I will try reading it later. It sounded like it would be interesting.
