Packed full of duplicitous characters and intersecting events this mystery will test the reasoning skills of both our hero scholars as well as the bonds of friendship, family and collegial ties.
I don't think medieval times were any less full of intrigue, ambition and revenge than any other period of history, but Ms. Gregory certainly packs a lot of all of those base human actions into her stories and this one is not different.
Pick it up! You'll enjoy it! Just don't sip fine French wine while you indulge in the story ;P

This is the fourth book in the Matthew Bartholomew series. I am hooked on this series. I love the time period in which this is set. The author does a great job and is very descriptive in her writing. The relationship between Matthew and Michael is fantastic and sometimes quite humorous. I highly recommend this series if you like a good historical mystery.
