Love the characters and the humor. Storyline is a little farfetched but then again maybe not.

I love all Miller's book. This one is an easy, entertaining read.

wow! what a plot and quite a setup for sequels. I was very impressed.

It's an action packed, quirky character story. Before Mojo has recovered from one incident, she will have stumbled into another one (reminiscent of Anita Blake to me - no down time; she may not have slept in 24 hours). I wasn't sure in the beginning whether I would read the author again. However, at the end, I immediately searched PBS for additional books by this author and there is a sequel which I have ordered.

Great book! Lots of twists and turns!

Loved it! A great ensemble of characters.

I enjoyed this book though I thought it was more suspense than romance. I like how the woman is independent. The book had humor which sorta downplayed the seriousness of the storyline. Mojo's parents were killed when she was 5 and she witnessed it but remembers nothing until this story takes place years later. A lot of side action is going on and some isn't resolved at the end of the story. I have the next book ready to read!

another good one from linda lael miller. This one I couldn't put down.

Great story line as are all of her books. Mystery plus romance.
Very good read. She seems to go from one crisis to another. Kind of like my life.
Slow to start but was good from there on. Also guessed who killer was from about the third chapter.
Does the idea of a ghost, a murder, a sizzling romance intrigue you? Well, its all here in Miller's page-turner. Once I got past the heroine's name (Mojo Sheepshanks), I enjoyed every page. A surprise ending with a hook at the very end to invite you to read the next Mojo adventure. Highly recommended!
I enjoy Linda Lael Miller and just finished Deadly Gamble. The family humor was like Janet Evanovich and the relationship reminded me of Eve and Roark. I enjoyed it and will start book #2 Deadly Deceptions immediately!
Fun summer read. I'm looking forward to the rest of the series as it develops.
Good book. I so enjoyed it. I got so caught up in it. That it took me only one day to read it.
If you like a character quirky enough to "see" her dead ex-husband's ghost through-out the story, I've got a book for you!
Because the plot keeps moving, it is hard to settle on the fact that talking with one's dead ex-husband is not the norm. It was only after I finished the story that I reasoned that this book was a wee bit off-kilter. You have to love a character that has the nerve to call herself "Mojo Sheepshanks!"
You know you have entered another universe when Mojo wakes up and finds the ghost of her philandering, dead ex-husband in bed with her! Just so she will not toss him out, Nick brings her a gift - the ghost of her dead cat - killed by her half-brother when Mojo was four years of age.
What does this have to do with the price of beans, you ask? Miller uses the ghosts to slowly unravel the tragic story of how Mojo became an orphan at 5 - and how this affects her current life.
Things are not as they seem (yep, we're back in that other universe), but I didn't really care because the story raced ahead at warp speed. I knew I was in the "twilight zone" when Nick announced he would help Mojo with the emerging problems so he "could board the last train for heaven."
I have never read a "paranormal suspense romance" before and doubted I would again. But, hey, I was a sucker and picked up book #2! That review will come soon; watch for it in the "twilight zone."
Mojo Sheepshanks Series:
1. Deadly Gamble (2006)
2. Deadly Deceptions (2008)

Very good book. Slightly different from her other books but still really enjoyable.
Not her usual romance! I found the first fifty pages a bit tedious but after that it was a do not put down read. Very good--with lots of potential for sequels. do not miss this one if you are a LL Miller fan.
Great book could not put it down.
I have read all her books & always enjoy them, this one is different but still a good read.
Didn't read this one. Had a hard time getting into it right from the beginning.
This was a fun book! Hope another one comes out soon featuring Mojo Sheepshanks! (Is that a great name or what!)
I have read a lot of her books and loved them. This is slightly different but I still enoyed it.
