I jumped right from Deadly Heat into this one. So it almost seemed as if it was just an "extension" to the other book. The story line is different, but the characters are from the first two in the series. So by the time I made it to this third book I was so familiar with them that it was as if I really knew who they were and how they operated.
This book follows Samantha, who has some serious problems in the first book. But she's dealing and is back to do what she can to help her team. I really connected with Samantha. She's very smart, and although she's a bit timid at times she can be strong when she needs to. She kind of reminds me of myself. While I like the rest of the characters in the series, and both of the previous books were really good I have to say that this is my favorite so far.
I've become kind of attached to these characters and I really hope that Eden keeps this series going. It can be a bit difficult to read, as (I've said before) Eden's ability to get inside the head of the killer is a bit creepy. But the writing is great and the story keeps you guessing. With this one I thought I had it figured out, boy was I wrong!

Not a big Eden fan but this was pretty good, didn't care for all the pages of just sex so unnecessary but the storyline was good.
Good story. Lots of twists and turns. I think too much sex was involved, but that's just me. Otherwise, an enjoyable book that was hard to put down. Keeps you guessing until near the end.
I was glad to get Sam's story. She is a brilliant computer geek extraordinaire. She was kidnapped and tortured in one of the previous books (book 1 if I remember correctly). One night she just wants to feel and meet Max who just sees her. He knows nothing about her or her background. They have a one night stand that turns into more when they see each other a 2nd time. They are thrown together when Max's brother, Quinlan, is kidnapped by a serial. This also happens to be the case Sam and her FBI co-workers are working. Qiunlan's kidnapping is part of a part of kidnapped rich young men and demanding a ransom. And if that ransom is not paid, they are murdered.
I thought this was well plotted and full of suspense/action. I did think Max was an asshole at times. This was one where I had an initial thought of the main baddie and then dismissed it as not likely. I shouldn't have done that! It was interesting b/c it wasn't just 1 person, but a team with 1 primary leader. Good twists.
The couple from the 1st book furthers their relationship in this one (Monica and Luke).

wow could'nt read it fast enough! loved it-fast paced and sexy too. man who would have thought it was the person it was!
This series just keeps getting better and better. There isn't as much sex in this one as their is in Deadly Heat but it's still enough to satisfy, and the last quarter of the book is full of suspense. Trying to guess the vilian isn't so easy with this one, and once you realize who it is its like being hit hard in the face with a shovel... you don't want to believe it. Seems like a sick cruel joke. But still worth the read, sooo worth the read. :) Really can't wait for the next in the series to come out.
Great addition to the series. Lots of plot twists and surprises, steamy love scenes. Can't wait for the next one.
