This is the second installment of the series, "Midnight Sins" being the first. First warning is that like "Midnight Sins," you don't really get a resolution since I'm guessing the big reveal will be in Crowe's story. At least in "Midnight Sins" they catch one of the bad guys. Here you don't at all so read it knowing that the book is more like a bridge from the first book to the third with a romance thrown in. The overall plot doesn't move much but more people are involved and introduced.
If you have never read Leigh, this is not a good book to start with. The writing is weak and somewhat convoluted but there are some steamy trademark Leigh scenes along with alpha hunks that will turn any woman into a damsal in distress. Not Leigh at her best at all. On top of that whoever signed off as editor to have this book published should be fired. Not only are there a lot of mistakes (names being switched, he or she mixed up's, etc...) there are paragraphs that are printed double in the story. There were enough errors I might actually consider writing St. Martin's press to complain.
I have to say I really liked Skye though. She kept me reading. She is tough and even though she finds Logan sexy she doesn't really bow down to him or let him manipulate her. Plus she really does save the day. Her back story was a little out there and kind of came out of nowhere but I am interested to see how it all ends when the big conspiracy is revealed.
Definitely not Leigh's best work but I'll finish the series. Just don't spend any real money or credits on it.

This series could be so much more. The base plot line is a good mystery, the Callahan cousins lost their parents in the same crash. And now the cousins have to stay in order to inherit their trust funds or forfeit it all. But whoever killed their parents wants to make sure they get nothing, including love and children. Every lover they have had since returning to Corbin County has been murdered by "the slasher", and now the impatient man behind all this has brought in an assassin to move his plot along. Skye has come to town to avenge her sisters murder, she was one of the slashers victims merely because she was friends with Logan. But the attraction between Logan and Skye is magnetic, and they can't stay away from each other.
This book moves the story along, but I have issues with the details. (And I put it down several times to read other books). The family tree is hard to follow, and there are lazy editorial errors throughout. This series could be so much more in my opinion. But as much as that irritates me, I have to finish this series. The mystery is such a good puzzle that I need to know how it ends....

I agree with Yvonne L's review. Leigh is one of my go to authors for steamy romance with a plot but this one falls short. The first book in the series was better but not up to signature LL quality but I wanted to read the second one to give it another chance.
The numerous typos and other errors I would not expect from this level of author, but sadly churning out the books and raking in the cash has taken priority over quality of editing and publishing.
I too will probably read the 3rd one just to find out who done it......

Don't bother with this one. It's not worth the postage, and definitely not a book to pick for your first Leigh read. This has one of the worst continuity and editting jobs I've read in recent memory. The first book was much better, so I'm not sure why she or her editor let this one loose before the final proof reading. There's also not much of a plot to hold the unimaginative sex scenes and even worse dialogue together.

Not my favorite series by Lora Leigh. This book took too long to get going. The drama with Skye and Logan gets on your nerves. I think a little resolution would have been better with the bad guys.
