I looked forward to reading this book since I, too, am an animal lover and "have a way with them". I must say, though, that I was disappointed in the book. I got bored halfway through and skimmed the rest to the end. This was my first Brunstetter book and will probably be my last. The writing style is simply too repititous and juvenile.

Beautiful Gift book.
Nineteen year old Melinda and Gabe want to be married but Melinda loves to rescue and rehabilitate God's wild animals. She is considering going to veterinary assistant or Vet school.Being that Both are Amish and are baptized they can not leave the community without being shunned. She tries to get Gabe to leave with her and he flatly says no. Both go through a lot of problems of their own doing before they can decide to get married. Melissa takes the GED and fails. The Amish have only 8 years of school. Her parents find this out from other people, but leave her to make her own decision.Melinda is plagued by doubts would she fit in the English world. Is that where God wants her to be. I loved this book because it shows a lot of choices that Amish young people have to make about their lives. The Amish is a strict culture. But I have Known many Amish and I believe that most do well to stay within their culture. They are not prepared for the fast pace and evil of the outside world. I could not put this book down until I Finished it. I have read books 1 and 2 in this series and both were excellent.
