OMG WHAT.A.BOOK.
When I first got it, I just glanced at the first page and that was it! I read it to the end. It is a spine tingling, nerve racking psychological thriller that I could not put down.
Beth has been planning to run away from a horrific abusive husband before he kills her. She finally takes off while he was out of town. She can't trust anyone, nothing is what it seems, the pages fly by, and the twist near the end was astounding.
Just read it; you won't be sorry.

Solid domestic thriller with a surprising twist.
I almost gave up on this book at the half mark, it seemed to be moving too slow and getting kinda boring and I did put it aside for a day BUT
I picked it up again and finished it! Soooo, when it gets to about 3/4 into the story is when it finally starts to make some sense and the ending is one you won't see coming

Read this in two days. could not put down. Another well written book by Kim with lots of twists and turns that kept me guessing. Sabine is missing, "Beth" is on the run. The police are searching for Sabine. And someone is searching for Beth. What is the connection between them? And who is "Beth"s abusive husband who is on the hunt to find her? For a brief period I wondered if Beth and Sabine were the same person but that never seemed to fit. I liked the ending. It worked and worked well. I was emotionally vested in both Sabine's story and Beth's story. I liked both characters. I also liked that the character development for Jeffrey (Sabine's husband) and Marcus (the cop searching for Sabine) was slow and where both started off as ok characters they weren't by the end. The reader learned a little more about them every few chapters which fit with the suspense and "whodunit" nature of the book.
I loved this book! am new to the author's books, but will be reading the rest of the books she has written.
Lots of drama, action, and fear in this book. Who has done what to whom? Where is everybody? This one will keep the speculation on high for the entire book.

One slip, one mistake, and Beth knows he will find her--and kill her.

This was a really enjoyable, compulsively readable thriller. It pulls you in nearly immediately and never lets you go--I was completely sucked up in the various stories. The book alternates between the points of view of Beth, Jeffrey, and Marcus. Beth is focused on escaping her husband, Jeffrey on figuring out what happened to his wife, and Marcus on solving the case. Each has their own unique voice, but you're never quite sure of who is telling you the truth or what is happening.

The result of hearing each person's individual take is a really exciting, twisty story. Where is Sabine? Who exactly is Beth? There are a bunch of fun "aha" moments throughout. I figured out some ahead of time; others were great surprises. No matter what, I enjoyed every moment and was kept interested and guessing. I especially liked and was intrigued by the character of Beth. (Please note that there is a domestic violence trigger in this book.)
Overall, this is a quick, suspenseful read that will keep you flipping the pages. I recommend this well-executed and entertaining thriller! 4+ stars.
