I like the premise of this first-in-series cozy mystery: A dinner theater set in a castle in the mid-west US. One of the cast members is found murdered. So far, so good ... but the story gets really a bit weird in the middle, and the main character gets a little over-the-top hysterical. There are a LOT of hidden connections that are sprung on us without warning, and are all highly improbable in the grander scheme of things. While the main character wasn't exactly too stupid to live, neither was she a thoughtful individual, which does not fill me with confidence that future books in the series (I now there is at least a book 2) will be strong enough to carry it.
