This series is consistently funny while having a great, strong female lead.

Good amateur sleuth mystery. Detective Savannah is easy to like and the murder victim is one easy to hate.

Another great cozy mystery by G.A. McKevett. Savannah Reid, the full-figured PI meets her idol, the Queen of Chocolate, Lady Eleanor and is hired to protect her from whoever is sending threatening letters to her.
But when she actually meets the Queen, Savannah is shocked and dismayed! And then trying to protect Lady Eleanor becomes impossible!! A good read and one that you won't solve until the end (No fair peeking)!

Death by Chocolate: chasing after the criminal from a detective's viewpoint takes more than just a sense of humor.

When Savannah hears that Lady Eleanor's been getting death threats, she jumps at the chance to be her round-the-clock bodyguard. It's a great chance to meet her idol in person--and maybe pick up some free chocolates, too. But her sweet dreams melt away the minute she meets Lady Eleanor. The woman is as rotten as last year's Valentine candy--and stingy with the chocolates to boot! After a few miserable days of her boos's put-downs and pettiness, Savannah finally understands why someone wants to put an end to Her Majesty's reign.
But when the Queen of Chocolate bites into a chocolate and drops dead in the middle of her own live TV show, Savannah is horrified. After all, it was her joby to protect Lady Eleanor--and now thousands of traumatized chocoholics know how horribly she failed. Talk about had for business. If only to save her own reputation. Savannah has to fiqure out who's to blame for the Queen's untimely (and very ungraceful) demise....

I love the Savannah Reid series. A full-figured 40-something heroine. What's not to love?
Savannah is hired to be a bodyguard for the "Queen of Chocolate" after she receives several threatening letters. To Savannah's dismay, her client collapses after biting into a chocolate during a TV show taping and dies in her arms.
This book was a good mystery novel.
