It may take you awhile to get into this story, but it is well worth the effort! Well-written, the characters beging to take shape and you care about what happens to them and to the little town of Paradise, Ohio. There are lots of twists and turns, plots within plots, humor, as well as some very touching moments. I hope there are more books to this series, because I want to read all of them. I give it 5 stars for a clean, cozy mystery!

Very well done, likeable characters, decent plot and interesting stain-busting tidbits. This is a series I will definitely continue on with!

So so cozy, characters are ok - nothing compelling or intriguing, no outstanding personality traits, average middle of the road. Killer's identity is poorly hidden. Not sure if I'll give this series another go. 2nd in the series.

The cover hooked me on this one, who wouldn't like a cozy mystery with hot pie on the cover... But, that being said, it disappointed. Just not a page turner or all that funny. This is my second try at this series, and I am not taking it any further, just not my cup of cozy tea reading..

Book 2 in the series. A fun, enjoyable stop in Paradise. This is a very chatty type novel as that reflects the character. Although the ending was good, the explanation of what all happened was way too wordy and long. I rather got lost in the explanation. But overall, a fun read.

Maybe I just haven't gotten into the series yet. I am "liking" the series, just not enjoying it as much as some others I read. Josie Toadfern has taken over ownership of her family's laundromat and has made herself a stain expert. In this book, the 4th of July celebration is in jeopardy as the owners of the local pie company, who sponsor the celebration, have some issues. Rumors begin to fly; the play which tells the history of the town's founding is rumored to be re-written; Josie gets visitations from her old nemesis, a teacher, who is long dead; there are issues with Owen, Josie's boyfriend; explosions, disappearances, and murders! What is real and what is rumor? Secrets, both old and new, are exposed.
