Anner Perry at her best. Why are 4 men found dead in the worst part of town, stabbed and mutilated? A Dr. and several Gentlemen--NOT the type that frequents the Devil's Acre, so aptly named. Thomas and Charotte Pitt, with the help of Charlotte's sister Emily, work to figure out why the bodies were there, and WHO killed them, with some wild twists and turns. Classic Pitt, Classic Perry
Anne Perry is my favorite author and it was a pleasure to find one of her older one's I hadn't read.

A doctor is found brutually murdered in Devil's Acre in London. Inspector Pitt is on the case and more bodies pop up.
When a doctor is found brutally murdered in the lurid section of London aptly named Devils Acre, even its most hardened residents are stunned. But shock soon turns to horror when Inspector Thomas Pitt discovers three more bodies with the same gruesome calling card: a stab wound in the back and a rather inexpertly executed mutilation. As Pitt and his wife, Charlotte, race against time to find the killer, a treacherous mystery unfolds. And no one, not the lowest brand of ruffian or the most established aristocrat, will escape unscathed.
