Plenty of red herrings as Chief superintendent Peter McGarr and his young wife Noreen try to discover who took a pitchfork to lovely May Quirk.

If you want a little more from your murder mystery than just who done it, I recommend this book. I raced along curvy roads in a Mini Cooper, popped into pubs, downed some Jamesons, and took a brief trip to Ireland. I know I'll be booking a return trip
