Takes place off the west coast of Ireland on an island that has done very well since a mysterious stranger landed upon its shores years ago. Now Clement Ford--"the Irish Sea Wolf" is in deadly danger as a Nazi from his past finally catches up with him. What does he want? How many people is he willing to kill to get it? Can the 80-year-old Ford outwit him long enough to make his secret safe and avenge the death of his elderly, blind wife? Will Dublin cop Peter McGarr and his "trophy wife" Noreen, help or bring disaster on all? A wowser of an adventure-mystery!

Bartholomew Gill is one of my favorite authors. Peter McGarr is one of Ireland's top homicide investigaters (with help from his team...and his wife of course!) These mysteries, while having Peter McGarr as the central and main character, also delves into the lives of the secondary characters as well. Creates a whole family of characters to adore!

Excellent mystery situated in Ireland. Great detective. Police procedural type.

Focuses more on the past history of the main character (the Sea Wolf) and what he has done with his pirate plunder, than on our hero McGarr.
Fascinating tale.
