E. (Elizabeth) A. Dineley has only done two novels that I can find - this one and Castle Orchard (which is a linked sequel). I understand these two were rescued from the bottom drawer of her desk by a friend; I so wish she had done more. She is better at putting characters and the reader into the mindset of the early 18th century than any modern I can think of. This is not a genre romance, though it does have romance in it; it is a novel of consequences in a society which had few checks and balances on terrible behavior. It and Castle Orchard, which is equally good, are keepers. It didn't cause much interest when it was published a few years ago, and it never got a paperback reprint, but a few fans found it and word of mouth led me to it. I am so happy that it has been put into ebook format, inexpensively, so it can find a wider audience.
