Perfect. A zombie detective who was shot in the head and as a result has a nice bullet hole in his forehead (and through the back of his head). The concept of Dan and Sheyenne remind of bit of the (cancelled way too soon TV show) Pushing Daisies. This was a light, entertaining read. I giggled at some the the jokes that were told to Dan by his cop friend, McGoo. The mystery is light and very predictable.

If you like your zombies funny rather than gory this is the book for you! The Big Uneasy has brought all sorts of monsters to life. Dan Shamble was shot in the head but returned as a zombie. He still works as a private investigator with a human lawyer for a partner and a ghost for a girlfriend. He's working on lots of cases simultaneously (who killed him, who killed his girlfriend, who is making threats against a vampire, what is the werewolf's husband up to?) so it's hard to know which suspect he's irritated into acting against him again. This is the first in a series.
