I'm usually irritated by short stories because I always find myself wanting more, but I really enjoyed this collection. The fact that some are very short made it easy to pick up and put down between activities, and it exposed me to several new authors I'm going to pursue. I think that as long as you go into it expecting short works, you'll really enjoy it!

I enjoyed these stories. Was a nice appetizer for those days when you just want to read and enjoy, not get totally involved.

I picked up this book because I wanted to read two of the stories that are part of on-going series that I read. I tried some of the other stories, but was bored with them.

Two Blondes by Charlaine Harris - Sookie & Pam are on a road trip to Mississippi, gambling at casinos and enjoying the shows while they do a little job for Eric. Of course, the job turns into a big problem. (3.5 Stars)

One For the Money by Jeaniene Frost - While on vacation, Cat & Bones pull guard duty for a spoiled heiress targeted by supernatural hitmen. While hiding out in Cat's Ohio home, they run into Cat's mother who is visiting the house for a little vacation herself. (4 Stars)

I tried reading this a few times now and got side tracked because the stories are boring. Here I am once again (for the last time) attempting to read this anthology. I admit to enjoying Jim's adventures in The Perils of Effrijim by Katie MacAlister.

UPDATE: I finally finished this book. What a drag! I believe that this book sold strictly on the merits of Jeaniene Frost, Katie MacAlister and Charlaine Harris. The other stories were a complete waste of time except for Pirate Dave's Haunted Amusement Park by Toni Kelner which was cute but not spectacular. I'd be interested in reading a full length novel by this author.

I really enjoyed the Sookie and Cat/Bones stories. I think anyone who bought/buys this anthology gets it for one or both of these stories. The other stories in this- not so good.

I only read Harris and Frost stories and love them. Two blondes is Pam and Sookie going one a work related vacation to Mississippi( Russell's territory) at a gentlemen's club that a vampire owns that's works with Victor- Felipe's regent of LA- but Pam is poisoned on elf blood, Sookie figured out it was a trap to hold them as hostages for ransom. Victor and Felipe will do about anything to bring down Eric and Area 5. This story was short and got to the point, unlike some of the new books in this series.

Frost story takes place between Destined For An Early Grave and This Side of the Grave. Cat's a vampire with her vamp husband Bones and her uncle Don called them to cut their vacation short to guard a heiress from her cousin that is trying to kill her form money. Unlucky for Cat, she heads to her childhood home to hid the spoiled heiress, her mother happened to be there also dealing with her vampire condition. This was short, funny and fast read.Love the series and does fill in some gaps I read from Book 5 and 6, there was some gaps and this stor filled them in.
