After reading Angels and Demons and The DaVinci Code, I was expecting something different, and this book was a disappointment. Too much technological ramblings just seemed to override the action and political intrigue. Not a favorite.
Helpful Score: 8
I loved The DaVinci Code and Angels and Demons, so I bought this book hoping it would be just as great. It's definitely a page turner, but I didn't love it as much as the other two.
Helpful Score: 8
Thought provoking book--made me think about a meteorite landing on Earth and what that would mean for the human species. Well researched and of course, the "suprise" person at the end blew me away! Dan Brown always does that!
Helpful Score: 7
Great Book. Just as intriguing as his others. Every time you think you have it figured out, something changes. I loved it and couldn't put it down.

While not full of the historic references that fill Angels and Demons or the Da Vinci code this is a get read that will keep you wanting more from Dan Brown!

A quick moving, easy and enjoyable read. A little bit predictable, but lots of action and humor.

another page turner by Dan Brown! Completely different material compared to The Da Vinci Code and Angels and Demons, but just as thrilling!

A meteor is discovered in the Artic Ice by NASA satellite. At first there is delerious joy over the discovery by NASA, but then things start to be discovered and people are killed. Great puzzle of mysteries.

Very different from Angels and Demons and The DaVinci Code...if you loved those, don't expect to love this one the same way. Still, not a bad read.

Excellent!!! I couldn't put it down and the twist at the end almost knocked me off my chair.

Another great Dan Brown book.

Although Dan Brown uses the same formula for most of his books, I still was engrossed by his storytelling and characters. I very much enjoyed reading this one. On par with Angels and Demons but I wasn't as riveted by this story as I was The Davinci Code.

A fast paced thriller like this author's books are, about the science community which affects the world.Surprise ending!

This is one of the most exciting and mystery-laden plus political shenanigans-laden books I've read in a while. I couldn't put it down. Proof of life found that is not terrestrial, or is it?
I couldn't stop reading this until I was finished. I think this is one of Dan Brown's best books, despite the popularity of his DaVinci Code and other similar books, and I've read just about all of his. Loved it!

This is the most exciting book I've read in a while. Some unbelievable predicaments that our heroin, Rachel Sexton gets herself into leaves you thinking that there's no way she'll get out of this one! If you like action, you'll love this book.

Dan Brown is an amazing author, and although this is not Angels and Demons, it is a great book compared to other authors.

One of Dan Brown's better mysteries. Keeps you turning pages right to the end. A good read and a pretty well researched mystery.

As every other Dan Brown book I have read Deception Point was a page turner and I never wanted to put it down. If you enjoy suspense and thrillers this is a good book to read. It also had a lot of interesting information about NASA which is supposed to be true. I would definitely recommend this book.
Best Dan Brown book I've read so far!
Another good book by Dan Brown!
Rocket fast thriller, an outstanding read - Vince Flynn
An excellent thriller. A big yet believeable story unfolding at breakneck pace, with convincing settings and just the right blend of likeable and hateful characters. A finely polished amalgam of action and intrigue. - Publishers Weekly

An excellent read - especially if you enjoyed Angels & Demons and The Davinci Code - with plenty of Brown's trademark suspense and detailed writing (with more sci-fi and less arts). It's been a while since I read it, but I remember thinking I acually liked it BETTER than A & D and TDC and hoping for a movie!
Great book! A quick page turner and thriller
If you are a fan of Dan Brown, you will appreciate this book. Although the subject matter is very different from Da Vinci Code and Angels and Demons, he keeps you captivated with a quick writing style. Reminds me a little of Michael Crichton subject matters.
Dan Brown is an swesome writer. This was suspenseful all the way to the end.
An easy read - Dan Brown is always entertaining.
Scientific thriller involving a NASA satellite and the Artic
I think this is my favorite Dan Brown. Different from his 2 Blockbusters, but also well written and thought out. I enjoyed it.
Isn't Dan Brown always good.
Quite a different book than his more popular books (more political), but a good read that keeps you guessing.
Riveting! You'll remember this book for a long time! Marian L.
Good book. Quick read
It was pretty good, great twist towards end, but the rest was normal
Dan Brown at his best...
Good book
Disappointing.
Will Dan Brown EVER change his format? Will he EVER be able to write a realistic female character? Sigh....I love the techno aspects of his books....but the same format every time is sooooo old.
Interesting mystery/thriller by Dan Brown, Da Vinci Code author.
Good read, especially if you like Dan Brown!
No cryptic codes or mystic societies in this book!
Pro NASA Presidential incumbent is opposed by a candidate determined to privatize NASA and backed by shady corporations. A potential meteor found in the Arctic Circle causes the White House to send an expedition to verify authenticity. One expert suspects a trick and soon must flee for her life as she investigates further. Top notch and exceptional.

The premise of this book was a little far fetched. But the story line was very good.
You can see that this is one of Dan Brown's early works
Another Dan Brown favorite. I thought it was one of his best. Good shape. Cover shows some wear.
A shocking scientific discovery. A conspiracy of staggering brilliance
A real gripping, excellent read. If you understand politics, this is for you!!
It is a little slow in the beginning, but once you get in to the book it is really good. Once it picked up, I was not able to put it down.
An interesting, exciting mystery about deception in NASA and the government. I enjoyed it and would recommend.
Couldn't put this book down. This book grabbed me after the initial first 50 pages. A good thriller with the NRO, NASA and White House, all centered around a meteorite from outer space.
There was an X-Files episode that was similar to this story. Entertaining.
a good thriller, it'll keep you on the edge of your seat
Fast-moving thriller - lots of action.
I enjoyed this book.
A thriller invovling Washington, DC, NASA, the Arctic, corrupt politicians, an earth-shattering scientific discovery. It is a real page-turner. I really liked it.
Another good Dan Brown read. Enjoyed this one.
This was uncharted territory for me (ha! ha!) but I found it thrilling anyway.
Pretty complex and fantastic story. Very enjoyable.
Hard to put down!
Exciting political mystery. Each time I thought I knew who the "bad" guy was, I was surprised to find I was mistaken. Great thriller, kept me on my toes, causing me to keep turning the pages to find out what was next!
Highly recommended!
Highly recommended!
An early book by Dan Brown (earlier than DaVinci Code, that is), this is a good read - not in same manner of DC, but still a good thriller.
Fast paced, enjoyable read. More scientific then his other books, but still great.
I enjoyed this much more than The Da Vinci Code.
DECEPTIION POINT is a thriller that keeps you entangled in the icy world of the Arctic, NASA, world politics. Science and political intrigue combine to make a deadly mystery. Very entertaining.
Good action novel about high technology and American politics, centered around a NASA discovery.
This was super! Takes place in the Arctic Circle. A rare object is found buried in the Arctic ice by a NASA satellite. Assassins vie with intelligence analyst Rachel Sexton and scholar Mickael Tolland as they uncover evidence of scientific trickery. Very suspenseful!
Fun thriller. Not as detailed as DaVinci or Angels & Demons but well written and a good story.
Loved this book about NASA and the White House. Dan Brown is awesome!
By Dan Brown , author of the Da Vinci code
this was really a good book, a page turner for sure. This might even be better than The DaVinci Code. A believable story.
I loved it. A scientific thriller that is believable.
When a NASA satellite discovers an astonishingly rare object buried deep in the Arctic ice, the floundering space agency proclaims a much-needed victory - a victory with profound implications for NASA policy and the impending presidential election. To verify the authenticity of the find, the White House calls upon the skills of intelligence analyst Rachel Sexton. Accompanied by a team of experts, including the charismatic scholar Michael Tolland, Rachel travels to the Arctic and uncovers the unthinkable: evidence of scientific trickery - a bold deception that threatens to plunge the world into controversy. But before she can warn the President, Rachel and Michael are ambushed by a deadly team of assassins. Fleeing for their lives across a desolate and lethal landscape, their only hope for survival is to discover who is behind this masterful plot. The truth, they will learn, is the most shocking deception of all!
An excellent thriller. A big yet believable story unfolding at breakneck pace, with convincing settings and just the right blend of likable and hateful characters. A finely polished amalgam of action and intrigue.

This is a great book, on the seat of chair, can't put it down!
Expected more than what was offered. I was anticipating a better plot than was present.
I loved it. Great, easy read like all Dan Brown Books, and has lots of twists! You feel educated and thrilled at the same time!
Dan Brown is a master of suspense. This book is written in a very similar style to DaVinci's Code and Angels and Demons, so I wouldn't read them back-to-back! But it is a very good book.
A shocking scientific discovery. Is it fact or fiction ? How will it affect the up comeing Presidential ellection? An outstanding book!!!!!
Fast and entertaining.
This book was amazing. I couldn't put it down. Despite it's 634 pages I finished it in 4 days. A thriller to the end.
This is a great read...I was put off at first by the size of the novel (over 700 pgs), but it turns out, the plot is so interesting and so well written that it was really a fast read. There is non-stop action on multiple fronts, the characters are well developed and "likable"and Dan Brown is an exceptional story teller. I highly recommend this book.
Another great book by Dan Brown. Couldn't put it down.
As with all Dan Brown books, almost impossible to put down. This book has to do with creation and/or alien life...
This book was a great book! Corruption and power reins in a page turner of moral decisions to be made with the United States Public at stakes.
makes me overly paranoid bout the goings on of our government as well as begs the question, where did we come from? and why are we hear? An interesting read.
Action packed and fast moving. Even if predictable. I great read
I loved this book, the story is so fast paced, exciting and makes you keep turning the pages. I liked the characters and how they developed. This is really better than the DaVinci Code. A must read book!
Once again another excellent adventure from Dan Brown. If you political scandal, deep family troubles, murder, deception (as the title so readily tells us already), and even romance, this book is amazing. It has a little bit of everything and is hard to put down until you get to the very last line. Every new twist and turn is a wonder, Deception Point is one book out of few I would reccomend to most everyone.
My first ever Dan Brown read and I really enjoyed the pace and intellect of the book. As with all of Dan Brown's novels, you must pay attention to ever tidbit. Exciting and fast paced.
As with other titles by this author, this book can be re-read, and still be new, I found several details I missed with each read.
Author of The Da Vinci Code. Action and intrigue.

I thought this book was amazing. If you liked the writing style of Da Vinci Code, you'll like this book.
Excellent!!! Strong protagonist male character that resonated well with my husband.
If you liked the DiVinci Code, you will love this book. It has a similar plot structure, but we are dealing with government secrets not religious ones. The heroes are likable, and of course romance is involved. Like Code, it can be hard at times to tell what is real and fake, but still a great read!
Not as good as Angels and Demons or Davinci Code. But it was still a good book. It has a similar story line like his other books, but definitely not as intriguing.
Dan Brown wites great books. Read them all and see the movies.
It was a page turner for me. I really enjoyed it. I felt like I had watched a movie when I finished it. 2 thumbs.
very interesting book. I enjoyed reading it and recommend it to others.
Good thriller but kinda far fetch. Another good book by Brown
Not nearly as good as Da Vinci Code or Angels and Demons. Lower your expectations for this title if you have read the other two. It took a long time to read as I wasn't in a hurry to get back to it.
This was pretty entertaining...I recommend it.
I really enjoyed this book. If you like the writing style of Da Vinci Code, you'll like this book.
Not as good a read as DaVinci Code or Angels & Demons. Still and all, a good read and some good twists and turns. Don't pass it up!
Not as good as The Davinci Code but still very interesting!!
A very good book. It was hard to put down.
Not as well-known as the Davinci Code, by the same author, but equally exciting, here's a great read.
Really excellent... Brown has the ability to make you think this is absolutly true and possible... as he has done in his other books.
Not nearly as good as the Davinci Code, but a fun read.
Three words about this book: Awesome, Awesome, Awesome
What a great book! I couldn't put it down!
Fantastic, fast-paced read, much in the vein of the Prescott & Child books. Great creative political and science thriller.
Great book, hard time putting it down.
Again Dan Brown makes you think all of this is real. And with today's news it's not hard to believe that this could happen. I can put some situations in today's world that could have happened in a similar way.

I loved this book. I hadn't heard of Dan Brown before "the davinci code." I could not put this book down. Definitely would recommend.
Absolutely a must read. Nothing but action and suspense from the first page to the last. Excellent. Couldn't put it down.
Excellent book, grabs you from the start and keeps ahold of you till the end!!
excellent read with great twist at ending.
I read this book when it first was published. THE most fast paced book I have EVER read. Much better than the other Dan Brown books. I don't know why a movie has not been made of this book. I have read all of Dan Brown's books, and this one held my interest all the way through. You can't put this mystery down.
Good book but the end was weak. Not Di Vinci Code quality but still a good read
Great book by Dan Brown.
Dan Brown is a very good story teller. I don't know how much of the science he describes is based in truth, but it was fun to suspend belief for a while and get into this action packed thriller. I like the strong female characters he writes as well. The lead character finds strength she never knew she had.
When the pick story twist was coming, I thought for sure I had it pegged and had I been right I told myself I would not like the book, but I wasn't right. He really got me.

I enjoyed this. Lots of suspense, the usual twisted plot of Dan Brown. I cannot wait for his next book!
An interesting, exciting mystery about deception in NASA and the government. I enjoyed it and would recommend.
Great read. If you loved Da Vinci Code and Angels and Demons, you will love this book. I couldn't put it down.
I really enjoyed this book!! It is just as good as other Dan Brown books, but has a very different subject matter.
I really enjoyed this book.......could not put it down...suspenseville
What a marvelous book. I put it up against books written by Vince Flynn (who I consider my favorite author). Even when I thought I had figured it out, Brown throws a curve ball that caught me totally off guard. This is a book that you won't be able to put down.
if you want a detail mystery this is it.

Excellent read from Dan Brown (again)! Very exciting, vivid and sooo believable!
Dan brown takes us along for an exciting ride, murder mystery set against the backdrop of political cover-up story over scientific revelations.
Can't wait for movie to come out!
Can't wait for movie to come out!
Once this starts moving it's a roller coaster to the end.
Good Book- story great. Typical Dan Brown.
A formulaic page turner.
This book reminded me a lot of Angels and Demons and of The DiVinci Code.
Another great dan brown book.
Hard to put down. Enjoyable reading. "When a NASA satellite discovers an astonishingly rare object buried deep in the Artic ice, the floundering space agency proclaims a much-needed victory--a victory with profound implications for NASA policy and the impending presidential election."
Another good book from Dan Brown. I haven't read a bad one yet. It is sort of slow to start, but after a little bit you don't want to put it down.
An intriguing look at the deception that can occur with politics and business
Fast-paced, great action and suspense.
Not as good as Dan Brown's Da Vinci Code or Angels and Demons, but a good read nonetheless. Somewhat surprise ending!
My copy of this book has 4 ISBN numbers in the front, and 2 in the back. The only one that would take in the system is one in the front of the book. It is the same picture, and 736 pages long. I don't know where else to post this, so doing it here.
If you enjoyed Davinci Code, you will enjoy this book. Set in the US, full of corrupt politicians, interesting insight into NASA
Excellent book!
Great Book. Lots of adventure (a little over the top at times), but great fun. If you like mysteries and thrillers, you love this.
I really didn't like this book. The beginning was ok, but the end kind of fell apart. I was expecting much more from the author of the Da Vinci Code.
A pretty predictable Brown book. Fast and not very filling.
No where near as good as Davinci Code.
A meteorite is found in the artic, and it couldn't have come at a better time. No God and the Devil just good olde fashioned suspense and action adventure!
Great political espionage story. Great twists, great suspense.
A good Dan Brown. All bad words are marked out.
A fast-moving thriller with all kinds of surprises for the reader.
I loved this book. It is exciting and has nice twists.
I was on the edge of my seat. It just got weirder and weirder
I am a dan brown freak. This one was a little different and not an art history one, but it was alot of fun to read. It has some technical science but nothing that isn't explained
very good book lots of intrigue
Better than the DaVinci Code
Really liked this far-fetched mystery...it was interesting with all the "High Tech" CIA and FBI involvement.
While not pushed into the spotlight with the controversy that "The Davinci Code" produced, "Deception Point" is an excellent, interesting and thrilling read.
Was Dan Brown watching the X-Files while writing this one? Some simularities in plot....
I'm not sure what order his books were written, but this one is much better than Angels & Demons and Digital Fortress. The ending is more seamless with the beginning, and the book's action takes off sooner, so there is less wading thru preliminaries. The main characters are also introduced in a less rapid fashion, so you'll be able to keep them streight right off the bat.
Something is under the Ice on the polar cap which will prove extratrestrial life introduced life onto the Earth, and some people will go to great lengths to have it introduced to the world.
Who is using who?
Will the good guys or the baddies prevail?
This book has the best ending of any of Dan Brown's and is the first of his books I can honestly be enthusiastic about.

Great read.
Though I don't usually read books of this genre, this was my third one by Dan Brown and it did not disappoint. Fans of his other books will no doubt like this one too.
Not as good as Angles and Demons or the Davinci code ( which I have in hard cover) but a good techno thriller.
And you thought Dan Brown only wrote the DaVinci code? Think again.
Great read! Kept you guessing until the end.
Very fast paced story with a very unreal ending....would highly recommend this read!
Yet another great book by Dan Brown. I couldn't put this book down either. It only took me 3 days to read it. Easy reading book.
The time is now and President Zachary Herney is facing a very tough reelection. His opponent, Senator Sedgwick Sexton, is a powerful man with powerful friends and a mission: to reduce NASA's spending and move space exploration into the private sector. He has numerous supporters, including many beyond the businesses who will profit from this because of the embarrassment of 1996, when the Clinton administration was informed by NASA that proof existed of life on other planets. That information turned out to be premature, if not incorrect. (This story is true; I repeat, Dan Brown's research is very, very good.) The embattled president is assured that a rare object buried deep in the Arctic ice will prove to have far-reaching implications on America's space program. The find, however, needs to be verified.
Enter Rachel Sexton, a gister for the National Reconnaissance Office. Gisters reduce complex reports into single-page briefs, and in this case the president needs that confirmation before he broadcasts to the nation, probably ensuring his reelection. It's tricky because Rachel is the daughter of his opponent. Rachel is thrilled to be on the team traveling to the Arctic circle. She is a realist about her father's politics and has little respect for his stand on NASA, but Senator Sexton cannot help but have a problem with her involvement.
Adventure, romance, murder, skullduggery, and nail-biting tension ensue. By the end of Deception Point, the reader will be much better informed about how our space program works and how our politicians react to new information. Bring on the next Dan Brown thriller!

This book keeps you on your toes from Page 1. An excellent thriller from the author or The DaVinci Code.
Unusual plot with lots of twists and turns. I didn't enjoy this one AS MUCH as Deception Point and DaVinci Code, but it is still a great read. A very fast page turner.
Nail biting, suspenseful, edge of your seat...how are the heroes going to get out of this one! Couldn't put it down, read into early morning.

Decent vacation read
Excellent adventure. Insanely quick read. Another great escape.
Artifact found in polar ice seems to save the fading reelection hopes of an unpopular President. But people and clues pointing to scientific trickery are erased by well armed assassins. An unexpected ending.
Not as good as Angels and Demons or DaVinci Code, but better than Digital Fortress. I liked this one because Brown ventured away from the Catholic Church storyline. Fast read, very entertaining.
Fast-paced...lots of fun...a pot-boiler (i.e. no deep philosophical revelations, just entertainment)
Can't go wrong with Dan Brown.Lot's of suspense and mystery. Read it in a day it was so good.
A real page turner!!! Dan Brown always comes through!!!
This is another awesome book from Dan Brown.
His books are great...a real page turner.
By the author of The Da Vinci Code. Very intriguing, fast paced book.
Another "makes you think" thriller.
very good book and makes you wonder if the good guy will get their in time and kept me on the edge of my seat.
A fast paced thriller. A great read.
I ama fan of the DaVinci Code and I liked this book as much. It is about politics, NASA and science and has a lot of suspense and many surprises.
Fab book. Love this author. Totally different tack from Da Vinci Code.
As good as any John Grisham book. Well written, engaging plot.

One of my favorites.
Good thriller. Intriquing. I enjoyed it. Kept me guessing until the end.
Liked it more than his others.
Another Dan Brown thriller. For the most part, it was an interesting
and exciting book to read. At times it requires a streach of the
imagination.

Dan Brown has a talent for writing these 'beyond belief' adventure stories. Still, I've read them all and now wait for him to write more. This one is as good as any other Dan Brown book. My only criticism is the unbelievable escapes from certain death our hero and heroin have. (Rachel Sexton and Michael Tolland in this case).
It's also a very quick read, lots of short action packed sections and chapters.

An OK mytery/thriller from the author of "The Da Vinci Code". Not nearly as many plot twists as TDVC, in fact I figured this one out about 1/2way through. Despite everything, it's a must-read for Brown fans.
Great summer read!

Struggling to rebound from a series of embarrassing blunders that have jeopardized its political life at the start of this lively thriller, NASA makes an astounding discovery: there is a meteor embedded deep within the arctic ice. And it isn't just any meteor. Inside the huge rock, which crashed to earth in 1716, are fossils of giant insects proof of extraterrestrial life. Yet, given NASA's slipping reputation, the question arises: Is the meteor real or a fake? That uncertainty dogs NASA and its supporters in Brown's latest page-flipper, a finely polished amalgam of action and intrigue. Trying to determine the truth are intelligence agent Rachel Sexton and popular oceanographer Michael Tolland, both among the first to suspect something is amiss when the meteor is pulled from the ice. Their doubts quickly make them the targets of a mysterious death squad controlled by someone or something that doesn't want the public to hear the meteor may be a fraud. Together, Sexton and Tolland scramble across arctic glaciers, take refuge on ice floes, are rescued by a nuclear submarine, then find themselves trapped aboard a small research vessel off the coast of New Jersey. All the while, the nation's capital is buzzing as to whether NASA has engaged in deception. Or is NASA just a dupe for aerospace companies that have long wanted a bigger share of space contracts? Brown (Angels & Demons) moves into new territory with his latest. It's an excellent thriller a big yet believable story unfolding at breakneck pace, with convincing settings and just the right blend of likable and hateful characters. He's also done his research, folding in sophisticated scientific and military details that make his plot far more fulfilling than the norm.

This was the first book I read by Dan Brown and it truly was a smart thriller... kept me guessing right up until the end!!! Fast paced, great page turner involving the President of the United States, NASA, and trying to figure out who is trying to kill who and why... great read!
I'm really enjoying this author's writing style. This book just sucks you in!

My husband read this one and just raves about Dan Brown's writing.
very exciting, page turner.

Totally different than Brown's other books. A real page turner.
I had a little trouble staying interested in this book. That is not to say it isn't good, it just is not what I like to read.

simply could not put down
This guy can build the suspense very, very well, but there is something lacking in his basic premise, not to mention his science is a bit less than accurate.
Scientific discovery and mystery. Good Read
GREAT THRILLER! This book kept my attention from beginning to end and was a quick read!
Another great book from Dan Brown. Different from his popular Da Vinci Code but worth the read.
Great Dan Brown book, had be up until the end.
A fast paced and engrossing book. Not predictable and, at times, hard to put down!
A let down after Da Vinci Code but an ok read.
Anoother edge-of-your-seat book from Dan Brown. There is a sense that he knows more than he's telling. I couldn't put the book down. Jan P.
it keeps you in suspence to the very end
Very good book by Dan Brown.
Although I found some of the events a bit unbelievable, I thought the premise was excellent and I have to give it points for being a real page-turner!
True to Dan Brown writing.
A taut thriller. Conspiracies, layers of deception....a lot of fun.
This was a great page turner. It kept my interest throughout.
An excellent thriller - an outstanding read.
If you haven't read any books by Dan Brown you are missing out on a very good story teller. This book is an excellent thriller, probably as good as any you've ever read. It involves a shocking scientific discovery with a conspiracy of staggering brilliance. full of intrigue and action. An engrossing read.
I was totally sucked in! It is nothing like his other books, but just as addictive!
a good conspiracy theory saga by the author of The DaVinci Code
very good scientific thriller
loved it
Almost as good as the Divinci Code.
Fast moving thriller which revolves around politics, several government agencies and a presidential election. At times the scientific data and technologies were difficult for me to digest and understand. I enjoyed this authors' other best sellers ("Angels and Demons" and "The DaVinci Code") more then this book.
Excellent page-turner!

This is a great read. I have been hooked on Dan Brown Books since the Da Vinci code. He is the master of twists and turns and endings you won't believe.
really loved this book.
An interesting story with some good characters, but not very believable. The technologies that are described and, according to the author, actually exist, are the best part.
This is a fast paced thriller with a good plot. I enjoyed it
a lot.
a lot.
A definite page turner. Quick and easy read.
Riveting plot, well developed characters. I think I read this in about 2 days because I couldn't put it down!
Dan Brown's writing is not quite as mature as in "Angels & Demons" or "Davincci Code" when he wrote this, but still a worthwhile read. Very revealing in the way his writing progresses.
Very good story and mystery. A NASA satellite discovers a rare object buried in Arctic ice and the plot develops with romantic intense pursuits of scientists and scholars to uncover a shocking deception within the government. Remember, since this is Dan Brown, it is also fiction.
I learned about some very interesting scientific capabilites we already have and some pretty "far out there" possibilities. Very thrilling and action packed story.
An interesting political sci-fi thriller! Dan Brown researchs his stories and you always learn so much as you read!
I cou,dn't put this book down.
Very good, suspenseful book. Lots of detail in the story about NASA and deception - full of twists.
This is another example of the Dan Brown's genius. This book holds your interest until the last page. The end is not at all what you will expect.
I love Dan Brown's writting and I absolutely loved this book. It was very well written and I could not put the book down. If you like mystery and action... get this book.
Good read. Kept my attention.
Classic Dan Brown. Fast paced, excellent read.
I found it quite boring, but well written.
An excellent thriller. Not quite up to par with The DaVinci Code, but excellent nonetheless.
nasa finds a object buried in arctic and then the white house calls on rachel sexton to verfy it and before she can warn the president rachel and michel are fleeing for the lives.
An interesting read but pretty far fetched. How three people with nothing but their wits can outsmart a special ops unit with all the latest gadgets and weapons escapes me.
I thought it was a great read, never dull, but i thought parts of the ending was somewhat far-fetched
In my opinion Dan Brown's best book. A real page turner, it doesn't blog down like some of his others.
Good book. At times Brown seems to provide so much information and detail that the story seems to get bogged down a bit. Entertaining and worth reading, though.
Typical Dan Brown - it was a fast and captivating read. Lots of action.
I'm surprised his books do so well. They're formulaic and badly written. I hated this one. I heard he used to be an English teacher -- no wonder people lament the state of education if this is any indication. Plus, he does one of the things in all of his books that I really, really despise: the women, not matter how highly educated, are called by the first name; the men their last.
Another great book by Dan Brown. Throughly enjoyed it.

Loved it! Just a bit disturbing, especially since I have connecions to NASA.
Dan Brown is still trying to find his writing syle in this book, but it is an interesting look into a government conspiracy situation. Action packed!
Very intersting book.
Excellent! Lots of twists and surprises.
An excellent thriller. A big yet belivable story undolding at breakneck pace, with convincing settings and just the right blend of likable and hateful characters. A finely polished amalgam of action and intrigue

A very enjoyable thriller set deep in the Ardtic .

Excellent novel, but comes up short compared to the twists and turns of Angels & Demons and The Divinci Code.
Not as great as some of his other books but still a good read!
EXCELLENT READ. Brown's tale of mass deception and thrills in the artic is much better than The Da Vinci Code, but follows the same accelerating pace. Easy to follow and very easy to get a hundred pages in without noticing the time going by!
It's not DaVinci Code, but worth a read if you enjoy Dan Brown.
***** Excellent - Change of pace from "The Da Vinci Code"
it is ok - I love a good science thriller but this is a little weak on character development. I guess like most of his books, it just reads more like a movie.

Not as good as DaVinci Code (which comes after this one), but you can see that Dan Brown is developing as a writer (ie: it's better than Angels and Demons).
Great book
A great thriller, it keeps your on the edge of your seat.
Really good thriller. Slow start, but the pace picks up and never stops.
Great Book. Another Dan Brown masterpiece.
Spys, traitors, lovers, politicians, scientists, romance, mystery all in one novel. Dan Brown at it again. I have read everyone of his novels and they keep me wanting for more. This is not Da Vinci Code but still a good read.
Excellent job of keeping me interested throughout. they should make a '24' style series based on some of his books!
Dan Brown's best book in my opinion. Excellent, quick reading.
a good thriller dealing with NASA and the Arctic Ice
Great start, unrealstic ending.
Excellent fast action book, believeable story.
Politics & science. I couldn't get into it enough to finish it.
My favorite Dan Brown book, this one has to do with deception in governmental agencies instead of having a religious theme.
Suspenseful. An excellent read. Somewhat technical, but not enough to take away your interest. Highly recommend.
An especially silly Dan Brown effort. Requires a huge suspension of disbelief to accept the absurdity of the plot twist that makes the mystery possible.
While not quite as riveting as The DaVinci Code, this book was still interesting. As with all of Brown's books, there is a lot of exciting fiction born from a small handful of facts and embellished into a thrilling story that you'll read from cover to cover and not want to put it down.

I do not recomend.
An excellent read. Never a dull moment. A+++!!!
Enjoyed this story once I got into it. Strong female lead.
Too much going on for me to keep up with but I would like to know what happened, just not enough to keep trying to read it.
Well, I did like this book better than Angels & Demons, but that isn't saying much. Brown has a definite formula that he follows, making his books extremely formulaic and predictable. I knew who the controller was before the book was half over.
The writing is also of a poor quality. "He was muscular and lithe with eyes as desolate as the topography on which he was stationed." What kind of simile is that? The topography? Brown's frequent reliance on sentences such as "Geologist Charles Brophy had endured the saveage splendor of this terrain for years, and yet nothing could prepare him for a fate as barbarous and unnatural as the one about to befall him." Gee, nothing kills the suspense faster than knowing the guy's fate as he's being introduced!
The story has interesting potential, and the technologies presented are most intriguing although I am highly skeptical of Brown's claims that All technologies described in this novel exist. A massive government deception such as this would not be at all surprising, however.

Author of Angels & Demons, Da Vinci Code. Great read!
You can practically see the screenplay as you read it. Not fine literature, but entertaining enough.
I was a bit leary when I saw that this book had well over 500 pages in it, but it turned out to be a very good, fast-paced read. It was long enough to last me through a long weekend at the beach. The ending was a bit surprising, as I never guessed who the bad guy was.
A NASA satellite discovers an astonishingly rare object buried deep in the Artic Ice. A team of experts is sent to verify its authenticity. When the truth is revealed as a bold deception that threatens to plunge the world into controversy, the race is on to discover the mastermind and to save their lives and world peace.
Very good book, never dull. Involves politics, conspiracy & scientific discovery (that of course will change everything!) I'm a science-minded gal myself, with a Biology degree so this appealed to me. Recommended.
This is a very exciting book and I recommend it to everyone to read at least once It is a very fast paced book moving along and going from one place to the other the characters are real and lively and absorb your thoughts and keep your mind on the chapter you are reading

As good as the "Da Vinci Code".
Wow - amazing, intelligent scientific thriller
Love All of Dan Brown's books.
A good read.Keeps moving but could have been a hundred pages shorter and it still would have been good.
A good, fast-paced book, but it is nothing like "Angels & Demons" and "The da Vinci Code."
great science fiction
Loved it!! Read all 700+ pages in 2 days!!
A fast moving thriller that's hard to put down. lot's of twists and turns make it interesting.
Interesting story, it gives a nice insight into Italy and Italian believe it or not lol. It lacks the depth of Browns other works, almost like it was written at a childs level. A good evening read. I smiled alot while reading it.

A shocking scientific discover. A conspiracy of staggering brilliance. A thriller unlike any you've every read...
"A taut, fast-paced, barn-burner of a book." St. Petersburg Times (FL) "A big yet believable story unfolding at breakneck pace...." Publishers Weekly
Another great story by Dan Brown.
Another great Dan Brown "suspense novel"!!!
This book is missing the dustjacket, but is in otherwise great condition!
(this review may be a spoiler) ... The bad guy is REALLY BAD, as seen near the start of this story. Marjorie Tench is also as nasty a character as I've encountered since reading of Myron Bolitar's arch enemies (Harlan Coben books). This was my first Brown reading. I was skeptical about there being undistorted fossils in chondruled rock, but I decided to "accept" Brown's solution to get on with the plot.
It was better than average; or a 3.75
