Most of this book takes place on the Isle of Capri, part of Italy. It is the heart-wrenching story of a brave young woman who travels to Capri to seach out her mother who has been out of her life for 10 years. She has a plan to bring her mother back home (to Rhode Island) but unexpected revelations & other people will come into the story to change the girl's thinking. Very inspiring & thought-provoking--things are not what they seem! If you love Italy, fishing, snokeling, seahorses, starfish, or beautiful villas high above the sea, you will love this amazing novel by Luanne Rice. I will hang on to this book & reread it often, letting it take me to Capri & to new awareness of family relationships, love & forgiveness.
This book continues the story of the Davis sisters, Pell
and Lucy, while solidifying Pell's romance with Travis.
As usual, It's almost impossible to put a Luanne Rice
novel down without finishing it. Can't wait to see what
happens to Beck, Travis' sister, and if romance is in the
picture for his mother.

Very touching story. Good summer read at the beach.
This book continues the story of Pell and Lucy that was begun in "The Geometry of Sisters", the author's previous book. Pell goes off to Capri to find her mother, who had abandoned the girls when they were small children. Pell thought she knew the story, but of course, she only knew the bare, unadorned skeleton of the story. I found the beginning very slow moving because the author had to reiterate everything that had happened in the previous book. I nearly put it down at one point, but I am glad that I continued reading. As the skeleton become more fleshed out, the story became so intriguing! The second half came together with the deep, family connections and history that Luanne Rice is so good at.
If you are a Luanne Rice fan you won't be disappointed. She tells such a good story, easy to read with just enought drama to keep you interested.
