Complex mystery set in a small close knit town. Shelby's origins of birth are still a mystery. Found as a baby she was taken in by the sheriff. She's grown up in the town and is now a deputy working for her "dad" who is now in the early stages of alzheimers. A missing child sets off a series of events that has a domino effect on the town. Secrets come to light as the FBI is called in and people's lives are turned inside out. Shelby must deal with her dad, her partner, & friends as she pieces together clues from the truths and lies of the boy's disappearance. Spanning 10 years this well thought out books pulls you in to the intricacies of small town life, the grief of a missing child, and how far friendships will go in light of murder.
