This is a great book for a bookclub read. It's funny and unpredictiable. You really don't know who the real killer is until the very end. The hero is a laid back private investigator from out of town. He eats junk food which drives Penny, our heroine, crazy. She's a health food nut and tempted too much with donuts, chocolate and vinegar chips. We all know how that is, right girls.

This one was a page turner, and I read it all in one night. The mystery is deep enough to keep you guessing, and the loose ends are tied up quite nicely.

Very cute book with more substance than I'd expected. I will definitely look for the follow up to this book!

Good characters, a bit of evil, and a lot of fun.

This book is fun to read and keeps you entertained with every chapter. Don't forget to pay close attention to the chapter titles, they are a story within their own right.

This story was a quick read, humorous, & kept me guessing. Penny's newly divorced in a small town & can't seem to avoid her X husbands mistress & X mother in law. A voodoo festival is in town bringing out the craziness. After Penny's divorce party her X ends up dead & she's the prime suspect. Her divorce attorney steps in to help. Add in a sexy out-of-towner that makes her blood run hot & a cast of suspicious characters. Are they friends or foes? Who & why was Deke killed? Kept me guessing till the reveal at the end. When Penny Francisco's cheating ex-husband, Deke Black, turns up murdered, Penny is the prime suspect as she was found at the scene by the new younger vindictive girlfriend. Enter gorgeous Cajun PI BJ Beaumont who is helping Penny investigate the many inconsistencies in the police case against her.

This is a light voodoo novel not a dark black magic one. A great mystery with engaging likable characters. The conclusion is very satisfying but leaves enough loose ends - not really connected to the murder - to stimulate an interest in a sequel.
