A very good suspenbseful read. This is part of a series, but it's the first in the series. It's about a woman with a past she doesn't speak of, and a man with few secrets of his own.

Good book, interesting, and entertaining. The mystery is intriguing, and yes the love story to die for.

After a breakdown, Charity Truitt has quit her job as a CEO of a Department Store and opened a small bookstore in Whispering Waters Cove. Corporate Raider Elias Winters has also moved to the small town and took over the curio shop. When a series of murders happen, Charity and Elias join forces to catch a killer.

I attempted to read this book many years ago but gave up after reading half. I decided to listen to the audiobook this time.
It is definitely was not my favorite Krentz book. The hero kept philosophizing about water. I thought he was very strange. The narration was not very good. I was nearly in a coma by the end of the book. My rating: 1.5 Stars.

With more bestsellers in the last two years under her various pseudonyms than Michael Crichton and John Grisham combined, there's no denying that Jayne Ann Krentz is one of the reigning queens of romance. In Deep Waters, Krentz demonstrates the quick wit, keen plotting, and expert characterization that took her to the top of her field. Set in the Pacific Northwest, Deep Waters is the story of two powerful corporate players who encounter secrets, lies, and hidden treasure in a quaint coastal town, far from the city lights of Seattle. Charity Truitt can't escape the ever-escalating panic attacks that have plagued her over the last four months. Desperate to escape a loveless engagement and an impending nervous breakdown, Charity flees to Whispering Waters Cove, a tiny seaside community. There Charity meets Elias Winters, a major player in the Pacific Rim trade, a man with a past too painful to forget. When the sleepy town is rocked by a killer on the loose, the two unite to catch the murderer. It's the undeniable connection between the two that runs deep in this passionate tale of intrigue.

Great book I would recommend to others.

I like Jayne Krentz, although some of her earlier work has a touch of old-fashioned physical dominance by the male (in particular, the threat of spanking, usually, which just annoys me). This book doesn't have that slightly outdated and misogynistic feel to it. The relationship between Elias and Charity is allowed to build, although one never has a doubt that they are meant for each other. The suspense in the book is genuine suspense and Elias' self-imposed isolation and remoteness makes for an interesting hero.

Good story... the Water Philosophy was wierd. I kind of skipped over the water remarks. Jayne Ann Krentz has a tendency to touch base on strange subject matter, so if you read her books, it's not that off-the-wall. Liked Charity and the secondary characters a lot. 4 stars.

Quick read but some of the conversations and situations seemed a little contrived.

This is a hardcover book that is missing its paper cover. I just wanted to let you know before you request it.

Charity Truitt and Elias Winter, tow of the Pacific Northwest's most powerful corporate figures, are both facing crises of career and the heart. Fate has brought them together in Washington's tiny Whispering Waters Cove, each eager to downsize and simplify. They're determined to avoid mergers of any kind-but when they meet, the attraction is nothing short of blue-chip. They definitely have one thing in common: A martial arts master, Elias is a novice at relationships; a formidable former CEO, Charity is starting in the mail room when it comes to love. But when the town is rocked by two shocking murders, Charity and Elias must join forces to catch a killer.
